Friends, unfortunately the results of yesterday’s election did not end up with me being able to declare victory. However, I believe I ran an honest campaign and I can hold my head high for standing up for what I believe in. While the final numbers won’t be certified for 10 days, I kept it closer than anyone expected and may end up with the best percentage of votes from any Democrat in this districts history despite all the odds against me.

I am proud to have stood alongside our Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill on her election and done my part to help her victory. Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way.

Elections results are the voice of the people. While these bomb threats occurred in all 3 counties that cover LD40, please make sure to get out to vote by 8pm so your voice can be heard. Law enforcement has ensured polling locations are safe, so these threats are clearly designed to try and disenfranchise voters. Please go vote, and if you need a ride to the polls let us know and we can help get you and your neighbors there.

This morning Jack Lohr for Hawthorne Council 2025 and I spoke to commuters at the Hawthorne train station about the Gateway Tunnel funding and importance of the project to them and the region. When elected I will speak out in support of projects that are beneficial for our district, unlike my opponents who stick their heads in the sand and won’t speak up about its importance.

I get it… Republicans want to blame me for their mistakes because it would be embarrassing for Al Barlas to lose election in a district that he gerrymandered to favor himself while he was co-chair of the NJ Apportionment Commission in 2021-22. But just because it would be embarrassing for him to lose is not a reason to re-write history and blame others for his own lack of accountability. Voters are smarter than that, and deserve the truth from elected officials. When elected, that’s what you will get from me.

Early voting starts today! In Essex County the 2 locations in district 40 are in Fairfield and Verona, however you can vote at any of these Essex polling places if you are a registered voter in Essex County.

Bergen County early voting starts today. In district 40 you can vote at the Wyckoff Public Library, however any Bergen County voter can vote at any of these Bergen polling locations.

Starting this week, registered Bergen County voters can vote early in-person in the 2025 General Election at any one of Bergen County's 9 Early Voting locations.

Early Voting Locations are open: Saturday, October 25, through Sunday, November 2, 2025.
⏰ Monday - Saturday: 10AM - 8PM and Sunday: 10AM - 6PM.

Don’t forget to make your plan to vote! Skip the crowds on Election Day and Vote Early.
