Yes on Measure P

Yes on Measure P It's time for us to put our community's kids first. P stands for PROGRESS!

Measure P represents a historic community investment in renovation and construction that will revitalize Woodland's public schools.

We want to give a heartfelt "thank you" to everyone who has supported our efforts to bring long overdue investment to revitalize Woodland's public schools. We had scores of people knocking doors, making phone calls, donating to our campaign, and talking to their neighbors about how important this measure was for our community. Unfortunately, based on the initial returns it appears unlikely that Measure P will ultimately prevail. Thank you to everyone who put our community's kids first and fought for a better future.

The recently completed Spring Lake Elementary is a state-of-the-art modern school, a standard to which we aspire for all of Woodland's public schools. Measure P will generate the additional revenue that we need to address facilities needs at all of Woodland Joint Unified's K-12 school sites and keep our new infrastructure strong heading into the future.

Our schools are in desperate need of modernization and repair. When our public schools are strong, our community is strong. Vote YES ON P!

Public schools are an integral part of the fabric and story of our community. 10 out of Woodland Joint Unified's 17 K-12 school sites are over 50 years old. Only two of our schools were built during this century. It's time for us to bring our schools into the 21st century. Let's put our community's kids first and vote YES ON P!

It's the final countdown! A sprint to the finish line! Join us in building a better future for our students.

The majority of Woodland High School's classrooms lack natural lighting. Elective spaces need to be modernized to provide 21st century career and technical education opportunities. There is a need to complete the renovation of Woodland High stadium, which will include an all-weather track to host track meets, visitor side bleachers, food distribution spaces for FFA classes to use, and a widened field to host football and soccer matches. Measure P will provide the resources that we need to address facility issues at all of our school campuses.

Pioneer High School's classrooms and library don't have enough electrical outlets needed to charge student laptops. There is a lack of shaded areas throughout the campus. The school lacks sufficient space for popular electives like music, art, and physical education. There is a longstanding need to construct a second gymnasium. Measure P will provide the resources that we need to address facility issues at all of our school campuses.
