This day in Music! 1966, The Beach Boys ‘Good Vibrations’ made its debut on the US singles chart. Written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love, the track was recorded over 6 weeks in four different Los Angeles studios, at a cost of over $16,000.

On this day in 1957, Paul McCartney made his first appearance with The Quarry Men at New Clubmoor Hall, Norris Green, Liverpool. Paul played John some songs that he has composed which Lennon contributes, marking the birth of the Lennon & McCartney songwriting partnership.
