The Village of Wrightstown Department of Public Works, along with several neighboring municipalities, has been assisting the City of Menasha with cleanup efforts following the devastating tornado that struck the community on Monday.

This serves as a powerful reminder that communities are strongest when we come together to support one another during times of need. We are proud of our DPW team and grateful to everyone who has stepped up to lend a helping hand as Menasha continues its recovery efforts.

Our thoughts remain with all those impacted by this storm, and we wish the Menasha/Fox Valley communities strength and resilience in the days and weeks ahead. 💙

A little “Did you know?” for this morning 💡

DYK? Those little bumps on sidewalk curb ramps are called truncated domes, and they serve to warn those who are visually impaired that they are about to leave the sidewalk and enter a street. The bumps can be felt with a white cane and under your feet.

I'll be joining my coworkers from Unison Credit Union and our own Wrightstown Police Department at Cops at Culver's at the De Pere Culver's to support Police Lights Of Christmas.

This incredible program gives local law enforcement the ability to provide immediate help to individuals and families facing unexpected hardships throughout the holiday season.

You can help by adopting a participating Culver's location, grabbing lunch with family or friends, or making a donation. Every dollar helps our local officers make a difference when it's needed most.

One of my favorite parts of serving as a Village Trustee is finding opportunities to help our community grow while also preserving Wrightstown’s history. Part of that starts with learning our village’s story and recognizing the vintage charm and character that make our community so special.

An old light post that stood in my front yard turned out to be one of the original 1935 bridge light standards from the Wrightstown Bridge. While I learned the globe had been replaced over the years, the pole itself is original to the bridge. After discovering its history, my husband and I decided it belonged somewhere the entire community could appreciate, so we donated it to the Wrightstown Historical Society-Mueller Wright House Museum.

I’m grateful we were able to help preserve this small piece of Wrightstown’s history rather than see it lost. Thank you to the Wrightstown Historical Society for accepting it and to everyone who helped carefully remove and transport it.

If you haven’t visited the Wrightstown Historical Society, I highly recommend stopping in. It’s full of stories and artifacts that help explain the history of our village and the “why” behind what makes Wrightstown such a special place to call home.

It was wonderful to spend the evening supporting another great Wrightstown tradition. Community events like the Waterboard Warriors Water Ski Show bring neighbors together and showcase the spirit of our village. Thank you to the skiers, volunteers, and everyone who makes these shows possible! 💙💦

🌳 Plum Creek Ravine Tree Removal Project 🌳

Residents may notice activity under the bridge in the Plum Creek Ravine over the coming days. The Village has contracted with a logging company to remove the abundance of dead ash trees throughout the area.

This work is being completed in preparation for the future opening of the new Plum Creek Trail. Removing these hazardous trees is an important step in creating a safer environment for future trail users. The project will also enhance the appearance of the ravine, promote healthier vegetation, and encourage new growth for years to come.

For your safety, please use caution and stay clear of the work area. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve this natural area for the enjoyment of our community.
