Federal law makes it illegal for a detained juvenile under arrest to be housed in an adult population. The law is called PREA, also know as the Prison R**e Elimination Act of 2003. Texas jails don't follow it and it's not monitored. Texas needs federal oversight of it's entire criminal justice system.

Collin County DA and Commissioners Chris Hill Sued for Covering Up Sexual Misconduct

Collin County, TX — November 1, 2022 — The David Brignac campaign was horrified to hear about the recent court filings against the Collin County District Attorney’s office and Collin County Judge Chris Hill.
The 75-page court filings first reported by the Dallas Morning News this morning, outline a “Toxic Workplace Environment” that was well documented with explicit details that the Commissioner’s Court was part of a coverup that lasted at least four years.
Chris Hill personally selected David Brignac’s opponent for the Collin County District Clerks office, Mike Gould. Based on the recent revelations, Chris Hill’s integrity is questionable at best for allowing such a toxic and masochistic environment to fester under his leadership. This brings forth many questions regarding the character of Mike Gould as his handpicked candidate for the Collin County District Clerk position. We would like to know what Gould’s knowledge of the situation was and if he was made aware of these allegations.
We also call on Mike Gould to reject his current endorsements by Chris Hill, anyone at the District Attorney’s office, and anyone of the other named defendants in the lawsuit. We also call for Gould to return any donations he received from anyone involved in the lawsuit to help encourage transparency and integrity to this office he is seeking.
The environment over at the District Attorney’s office is exactly why David Brignac got into the race. The rumors of these types of allegations have been floating around for years and the Collin County government’s lack of action created the need for a new direction with new leadership. A new direction that respects all employees and an environment where women can come to work for our great county without fear of becoming victims of harassment or pay-for-play schemes. A just environment where these types of allegations are taken seriously and handled swiftly. When elected, Brignac will work on day one to make sure that coverups and the ole boys club mentality are a thing of the past.

The suit was filed by the district attorney’s chief investigator, Kim Pickrell; deputy chief investigator Keith Henslee; former misdemeanor prosecutor Fallon LaFleur; prosecutor VyKim Le; and two plaintiffs identified as Jane Doe.
