Xander Thomas Wade born 4-13-08

His life inspired us. Xander had half a heart at birth...surgeries, feeding tubes, hospital stays...his body never followed the rules in fact more often than not his body was known for throwing the rulebook right in our faces. He was later diagnosed with Allgrove 4A it is a 1 in a million diagnosis, yep you heard that right. But people don't pour $$ or support into

a disease no one has...so, basically it would mean we had a name of an illness to shoot our nerf darts at, or if you are Xander you build villains out of lego and name them Capt Allgrove and throw legos at him. Xander would go on to become an Hon. Wylie Police Officer (a job he took very seriously!)
He was a friend to everyone he met. I'm not even kidding, he thanked nurses for setting IVs. Always a gentleman he would kiss a lady's hand and escort her to the door. Xander loved BIG. September 5, 2016
Xander having lived his whole life held his sister's hand and as she sang to him of how Good our Father is we walked him to Jesus.....
but life didn't stop there. Grief is far from easy, loving all the way to heaven everyday and carrying him with us are things we are still learning.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Ms Jeni Summers.

Ms Jeni was Xander’s homebound teacher from pre-K to 3rd grade. Her compassion, unwavering dedication to do whatever it would take to help Xander learn is a testament to the educator she is. Her students are the unseen gems from the hallways of Wylie ISD facing challenges that can feel relentless. She bravely came into Xander’s world and brought the excitement of reading, math (his fav was math ninja) science and even the idea of a robot she heard Region 10 had that would later connect Xander to school in a new unique way. It seemed only fitting she would be with us today as Xander was honored at graduation.

Thank you Jeni for loving our Xander so well. You are teacher of the year in our book!

Class of 2026
When Xander was born there was a cute bulletin board in the hall that read “class of 2026” I remember thinking how absolutely far away that was….it also never crossed my mind then he wouldn’t be here for it.

But Wylie ISD his precious teachers, friends and of course our Wylie Police Officers make sure he is remembered so beautifully.

Last week we had the absolute precious honor to attend the Senior reception at Watkins Elementary, then the Wylie East Senior awards where we awarded 4 recipients the Xander Wade Memorial Scholarship. 4 students we got to bless as they take this next step in life. That’s pretty awesome friends!!

Xander’s name doesn’t come home on certificates or diplomas but knowing it can be spoken in a way that means we are helping students on their journey….that fills our hearts in such a powerful way. (Even if his name ended up misspelled on the checks lolol)

I hope his classmates know how much he loves them. Thank you Wylie Police Association for all you do to make this happen. Thank you Wylie ISD, we have some of the best kids in this district, thank you Watkins Elementary for inviting us to the reception.

Thank you all our Xander fans for remembering, for cloud pics, messages, and sweet hugs. Xander would tell us, “I love you to the moon and OUT cause that is further than moon and back.”

We love you all….to the moon, and out.

Happy last day of school Class of 2026!
