This week, I had the opportunity to spend time in Washington, D.C. as part of the Coalition for Juvenile Justice Conference, representing Greene County and serving in my role on the Governor's Council for Juvenile Justice.

One of the most encouraging parts of the experience was hearing directly from young people who are making a difference in their communities and advocating for positive change. Their stories were a powerful reminder that when we invest in our youth, we invest in a stronger future for all of us.

I was also grateful for the chance to meet with Ohio leaders, learn from professionals and advocates from across the country, and bring back ideas that can help support children and families here at home.

And as a proud Cedarville University graduate, I couldn't resist snapping a photo beside the Cedarville pennant in Senator Moreno's office. It was also great to see Central State University represented among the Ohio schools on display.

Serving Greene County is always an honor, whether at home or on Capitol Hill. I'm thankful for every opportunity to learn, listen, and advocate for the next generation.

Today, on World Bicycle Day, I'm reminded of one of the things that makes Greene County so special.

With Xenia being known as the Bicycle Capital of the Midwest, our greater community is home to an incredible network of scenic bike trails that connect our parks, communities, and neighbors. Whether you're riding for exercise, commuting to work, spending time with family, or simply enjoying the outdoors, these trails offer something for everyone.

I'm grateful for the dedicated teams at the Greene County Parks & Trails and other local partners who work year-round to maintain and improve these beautiful pathways. Their efforts help make Greene County a destination for cyclists from across Ohio and beyond.

Today, let's celebrate the trails, the communities they connect, and the people who keep them safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all.

Happy World Bicycle Day! 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

It was a privilege to help kick off the Hope Spot 5K this past Saturday and welcome so many people who came together to support mental health awareness in Greene County.

Events like this remind us that mental health matters, recovery is possible, and no one should have to walk through life's challenges alone. Thank you to Hope Spot, the volunteers, sponsors, and every participant who showed up to support this important cause. It was inspiring to see our community come together in such a meaningful way.

This morning, I was honored to attend the ceremony at Fairfield Cemetery. It was a meaningful morning of remembrance as our community came together to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

We were reminded that Memorial Day is more than a holiday. It is a time to pause, remember, and honor the sacrifice of those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy today. We are forever grateful.

May 7th was the National Day of Prayer. This year's theme verse was 1 Chronicles 16:24. I attended the Greene Memorial prayer breakfast and had the opportunity to lead in song. It was a wonderful morning.

Other prayer events that happened around the area were at Jackson Lytle Funeral Home, Grace Christian Center, Greene County Courthouse Steps, First Church of Christ in Xenia, and First Baptist Church in Fairborn, and a prayer walk around the Courthouse.

I love seeing our faith communities rally throughout the county to pray for their communities and country!

I had the opportunity to attend the DDC Fly-In this month, where local and regional leaders bring delegations of business owners and civic leaders to discuss economic growth, workforce development, and infrastructure funding with leaders in Washington, DC. I had the honor to introduce Ohio Senator Jon Husted during the event. This was a great opportunity for me, as a local commissioner, to advocate for Greene County interests at the federal level.
