CHECK YOUR SPRINKLERS

Washington has declared a drought for the 4th consecutive year. We can help by simply checking your sprinkler system!

First: Check for leaks. Fixing leaky sprinkler heads, pipes, and connections can save on municipal water bills and conserve water.

Second: Adjust your schedule. Your lawn will still thrive on an every-other day schedule. You can also water early in the morning to avoid evaporation

Third: Direct the water. Aim sprinkler heads to only spray grass and avoid unnecessarily spraying concrete. This can cause runoff and ultimately waste water during a drought.

Did you know that wildfires affect air AND water quality?

Massive fires burn vegetation and soil, destroying the soil's binding ability. This drastically increases sediment and debris runoff into rivers during the next rain event, which can cause all sorts of problems down the road. You can help our waterways by being Firewise and keeping storm drains clean, thereby preventing other pollutants from entering the river.
