We're just one month away from this inaugural family event! Join us for an unforgettable evening where stories come to life and families through the power of reading!

📍 York Comprehensive High School Stadium

Bring a book, grab a blanket, and enjoy a picnic-style reading experience right on the turf alongside student athletes and leaders!

This fun-filled night will include:
⭐ Food trucks & concessions
⭐ Community organizations
⭐ Special book features from each school/department
⭐ Reading Olympics at 7 PM (there will be inflatable costumes, you seriously DON'T want to miss this)

Whether you’re a lifelong reader or just getting started, this night is for everyone. Let’s come together, celebrate literacy, and make memories Under the Lights!

It was a great week in DC advocating for housing on The Hill! There are currently two bipartisan housing bills passing through Congress, which goes to show the importance of the housing crisis in our country! I am proud to say that one of our South Carolina Senators is heading up one of those bills! It’s nice to see housing as a hot topic in our nation’s capital! To all my colleagues, keep up the good fight! 💪🏻

The York Housing Authority office will be CLOSED on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to the winter weather conditions! If anyone has any emergency maintenance needs, please call the emergency maintenance numbers. These can be found on our website at yorkhasc.org. If you have a power outage, please call the Duke Energy outage line! Please stay safe & stay warm!

Generator Safety!!
After speaking with insurance and legal professionals yesterday, it is the position of the housing authority that generators are to be treated as any other gas-powered machinery, which are NOT allowed inside the home, storage area or porch. If you do acquire a generator and choose to use it during a power outage, it must be located at least 20 feet from your home with the items you are choosing to power plugged into the generator. NO ELECTRICITY CAN BE RUN FROM THE GENERATOR DIRECTLY INTO THE HOME!! (This includes outlets & outlet boxes!!) This is unsafe & will be a violation of the lease! Please stay safe!!! If you have a generator, we encourage you to report this to Chris, Maintenance Director, at 803-628-8955 for tips & guidance on safe use!
