Whether celebrating diversity and belonging at Pride or standing together to promote peace and reduce violence in our communities, we are grateful for the opportunity to engage with the public and support causes that help build a stronger, healthier York County.

These events provided valuable opportunities to connect with community members, share information about our services, and strengthen partnerships that support safety, inclusion, wellness, and positive change throughout York County.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who stopped by to talk with us. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and connections throughout the year.

Many of our Probation clients Wellness Court participants rely on bikes and e‑bikes to get where they need to go. We know transportation isn’t always easy, and we appreciate the effort you put into staying committed and moving forward.
To help you stay safe and avoid setbacks, we’re sharing an infographic from Northern York County Regional Police about what’s legal — and not legal — for e‑bikes in PA. Understanding the rules can help protect your progress.
We want you to keep riding, keep moving, and keep succeeding. If you have questions about safe transportation options, we’re here to help.

Today we joined in celebrating the dedication of the newly renovated children’s waiting room at the York County Judicial Center. The space honors the legacy of Judge Blackwell and provides a welcoming environment for children and families.
This meaningful project reflects our community’s commitment to supporting children through comfort, literacy, and opportunity. Thank you to everyone who helped make this vision a reality.

Probation Services is proud to recognize both Gun Violence Awareness Month and Pride Month by joining our community at two important events this Saturday, June 13. We’ll be out in the community sharing resources, engaging with families, and supporting the efforts that make York a safer and more inclusive place for everyone.

Stop the Violence – Penn Park
Join us at the Annual Stop the Violence Event hosted by Casa De Reconciliación. This gathering promotes peace, healing, unity, and positive opportunities for youth. To support gun safety education, we will be offering Eddie Eagle GunSafe® kits for kids. The Eddie Eagle program helps parents, educators, and law enforcement teach children in Pre-K through 4th grade what to do if they ever encounter a firearm. We’ll also have games, temporary tattoos, and information about Probation Services available.

York County Pride 2026 – York Fairgrounds
We’re excited to celebrate at York County Pride with the LGBTQIA+ community, allies, and local organizations. Visitors can stop by our table to color their own rainbow with staff, enjoy temporary tattoos and games, and learn more about the services and support our department provides. Pride is a time for connection, visibility, and honoring the diversity that strengthens our community.

We hope you’ll visit us at either event. Together, we can continue building a York County rooted in safety, dignity, and belonging for all.

June 1-7 was National CPR and AED Awareness Week!

The National Cardiac Arrest Collaborative members reminds us that every second counts in cardiac arrest and people can save lives by knowing how to perform CPR and use an AED.

If someone goes into sudden cardiac arrest, their heart suddenly stops beating, stopping blood flow to the brain and other vital organs. More than 1,600 people suffer cardiac arrest every day in the United States, so if you see someone collapse without warning, know your ‘Cardiac Arrest 1-2-3.’

Call 9-1-1.

Start CPR.

Use an AED.

A huge shout out to John Schmidt who has been training and certifying our staff on HSI Adult First Aid & CPR/AED -all ages, since 2021!
