πŸ—“ Saturday, June 6, 2026
⏰ 9:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

We need:
βœ… Volunteers to help install smoke alarms
βœ… Households to sign up for FREE smoke alarm installations and fire safety education

During the event, trained teams will:

Congratulations Chief Smith and Deputy Chief Westover! Thank you for your service!

Big news for York City this year, and even better, it’s coming from within our own community. πŸš’

Congratulations to Adam Smith on his appointment as Fire Chief of York City Department of Fire/Rescue Services! A 4th generation firefighter, Chief Smith has served our city since 2010, earning multiple commendations for his heroic work and rising through the ranks from Deputy Chief to lead the department.

We’re also proud to announce that Kevin Westover has been named Deputy Chief. A graduate of York High (Class of 1996) and Shippensburg University, Chief Westover has been a dedicated member of the department since 2003 and continues to serve with distinction.

What makes this moment even more special? Both Chief Smith and Chief Westover call York City home. Their leadership reflects the strength, pride, and commitment that comes from serving the very community you live in.

Please join us in congratulating Chief Smith and Deputy Chief Westover on these well-deserved appointments! πŸ‘
