🚨 Kendall County Residents — Your Voice Is Needed 🚨

I’m still working to get the ordinance passed that would stop people from shooting guns near residential areas in Kendall County. The vote was tabled a few weeks ago, but it’s coming back — and we need a strong community presence before the final vote on December 11th.

If you’re concerned about gunfire happening close to homes, families, and neighborhoods, PLEASE come out and speak during public comment at the next two meetings:

📅 Monday, November 25 at 4:00 PM
📅 Monday, December 2 at 6:00 PM

Your voice truly matters. Even a short statement can make a huge difference. Let’s show the board that our community cares about safety and responsible action.

Please share this to help spread the word! 💛🏡🔇

We received an email today that the board is still processing our ordinance and it will hopefully be on the agenda in September! We would love if everyone could mark the dates down in advance 9/2 at 6pm and 9/16 at 9am! Having the public support and voices is what is making our ordinance move quickly through the process! Thank you for all the support and continue to push this ordinance to be passed!

We are still waiting on an update from the states attorney and Kendall county board. We were told we could not see the drafted ordinance until after it passes through the states attorney and is presented to the board. We are hoping this happens at the July 15th board meeting at 6pm! If anyone has any resources to help us find this information out we would appreciate it!

Update: The Kendall County Board meeting is cancelled for July 1st. The next board meeting is July 17th at 9am! We also have received notice that the ordinance has been drafted and sent to the state attorney. After it is completed by him it will be put in front of the board! This is such great news! We hope the board sees this issue and passes it to protect all residents within city limits!

Another great article from WSPY!

The Kendall County Board on Tuesday heard more comments from residents who say that bullets fired from unincorporated areas have struck their homes in Yorkville.

I just received an email from one of the Kendall County Board members that they are in process with working with the Sheriff and the Planning Building and Zoning committee to draft an ordinance to stop shooting in unincorporated Kendall County near residential neighborhoods to present to the board! This is the BEST news we could receive! Our voices have been heard and steps are being taken to protect us! Thank you to everyone who has shown up, signed our petition and shared our page! Have a great weekend and we will keep everyone updated! Showing up matters and please mark your calendars to come to the next Kendall County Board meeting July 1st at 6pm!

Thank you to everyone who came yesterday to the Kendall County Board meeting! We had 4 incredible speakers that all explained how not having this ordinance has impacted their lives. 2 Yorkville residents whose houses have been hit by stray bullets and 2 residents whose lives are negatively impacted by shooting just 30 yards from their homes. We now have 4 Kendall County board members who are in support for this ordinance and we are hoping to have an answer to have this on the agenda and move forward as an ordinance by next week. If your home as been been hit by a stray bullet from an unincorporated area, you are a neighbor of someone who has been hit or if you just think that it is INSANE that it is legal to shoot this close to residential neighborhoods, then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come and speak at the next meeting on July 1st at 6pm! It is so important that our residents come out and voice our concerns and show the board that this ordinance is needed. Please share our posts and page with friends and family and others in the Kendall County area! We hope to see everyone at the next meeting!

🚨 UPDATE: Gunfire Near Homes in Kendall County 🚨
Hi everyone — I wanted to share a quick update on our fight to protect families from unsafe firearm discharge near residential neighborhoods.

✅ I spoke at the Kendall County Board on May 27th
✅ I spoke again at the Yorkville City Council on June 10th
✅ I will be back at the Kendall County Board on June 17th
✅ 600 people have already signed our petition
✅ I've spoken to State Reps Maura Hirschauer and Jed Davis — and both support taking action on this issue!

📍 My home was hit by stray bullets — twice — from an unincorporated property. I’ve now found 8 homes in Kendall County that have been struck by gunfire in the last five years. Countryside Subdivision, Greenbriar Subdivision, Blackberry Woods Subdivision, Heartland Subdivision and Windett Ridge Subdivision. This is NOT an isolated issue.

💬 I recently stood on a neighbor’s deck just 30 feet from an unincorporated property where a family routinely shoots off their deck — right next to residential homes. She told me she doesn’t even feel safe being outside. That is not okay.

📜 We are NOT trying to ban guns. We’re asking Kendall County to adopt a common-sense ordinance — like Will, DuPage, and Lake Counties already have — to stop gunfire within 300 yards of residential areas.

🖊️ If you haven’t signed the petition yet, please do. If you have — please share it.
💥 Your voice matters. Let’s keep pushing until this board acts to protect our neighborhoods.
