The third apartment complex in recent months where residents in Washtenaw have been displaced or forced to live in horrible conditions. Thanks to Superior Township and Commissioner Annie Somerville for being all over this one.

Residents at a Washtenaw County apartment complex said they’ve been living with backed-up sewage, days without running water, and what they believe is mold, and now the property is facing formal action from the township. (Link in comments)

Positional power is a fallacy. Your position, title, or perceived authority can never dictate your impact. Last week was a wonderful reminder of that truth.

Tuesday we hosted a room full of young people at the CVI summit. Wednesday we were at it again with nearly 200 attendees for the adult summit. Thursday the Road Home Documentary debuted. Friday had the pleasure of being the MC at the Ozone Gala, raising money for youth homelessness.

Impact in action.

We're hiring for the Mobile Support Services Initiative (MSSI) program coordinator. If you don't know about the MSSI, it's a county office on wheels and we need another team member to help coordinate the program.

Last year the MSSI participated in or hosted 138 events in every corner of Washtenaw County. In 2026 we are already on track to surpass that number. If you know someone who might be interested, pass the word!

The Youth Assessment & Resource Center (YARC) is designed to revolutionize the juvenile justice system by connecting kids to community resources, not systems. The person running the project is key to its success. Know anyone who would be good for the role? Pass it along.
