GAMES & STORYTIME!

As we celebrate Emancipation Month, let us continue to pass on our traditions, not only through books but through the games we played and the stories we told.

Come along for an afternoon filled with fun and learning as the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Creative Industries, through the Department of Culture, presents Games & Storytime!

Our children will get an opportunity to play traditional games and hear engaging stories while connecting with aspects of our heritage.

🤖🎨 FRAMING THE FUTURE: COMMUNITY STORYTELLING & AI LITERACY

The Department of Culture led a programme that introduced young people to Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital storytelling, photography and creative media production, "Framing the Future".

The programme began on Monday, August 10th, engaging twenty (20) young people between the ages of 12 and 17. Participants received insight on how to use AI responsibly as a creative tool, while documenting, reimagining and sharing stories connected to their communities and Vincentian heritage.

Throughout the programme, participants explored:

📸 Photography and visual storytelling
🤖 AI and responsible use
🌿 Community heritage documentation
🎨 AI assisted creative content development
🎬 Digital storytelling and presentation
💡 Creative problem solving and collaboration
🔐 Ethical use of emerging technologies

The programme was coordinated by Shanique Stewart, Visual Arts Development Officer within the Department of Culture.

Facilitating the programme were Akley Olton and Colin Browne, who
supported participants as they develop their creative and digital skills.

A graduation was held on Friday, August 14th at theThomas Saunders Secondary School – IT Lab

The Department of Culture looks forward to celebrating the achievements of our young participants and showcasing their creative work.
