Welcome to Arnos Vale House & Gardens.

Thank you for joining me at the beginning of what I hope will become a fascinating journey through the history, gardens, architecture, wildlife and living heritage of this remarkable place.

My family’s connection with Arnos Vale began in 1893, when my great-grandfather, George Richard Corea, purchased the Arnos Vale Estate. The Corea (later Casson) family had come to St Vincent from the Portuguese island of Madeira in the mid-19th century, and through hard work and determination established themselves in business before eventually acquiring this historic estate.

I grew up exploring these gardens, eating its fruit, enjoying the old trees and loving the wonderful scents and wildlife that make Arnos Vale House so special. Many of the plants you will see featured here, including the beautiful Bermuda lilies currently in bloom, have been part of the landscape for as long as I can remember.

This page is my way of documenting and sharing the stories of Arnos Vale House and Gardens—its people, its plants, its wildlife and its place in the history of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

There is still so much to discover, and I hope you’ll enjoy the journey with me.
