The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Bureau of Standards (SVGBS) committedly joins the rest of the International Community in celebrating World Accreditation Day (WAD) on June 9th 2026.

World Accreditation Day is promoted by the two leading International Accreditation bodies: The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). These two international organisations, have now joined together as a single entity- The Global Accreditation Corporation Incorporated, (GACI), creating a framework that ensures competence, impartiality, and reliability of testing, inspection, and certification worldwide, helping to reduce technical barriers to trade.

Accreditation is the independent evaluation/assessment of the competence and impartiality of an organization and the compliance of its work to carry out specific activities, such as testing, calibrations, inspections and certifications to nationally and internationally recognized standards

This year’s WAD theme focuses on: “Innovation, Trust and Sustainability: The Power of Accreditation” which spotlights the role that accreditation and conformity assessment play in enabling innovation, building trust and supporting a more sustainable future.

We share with you this year's WAD message.

Happy World Accreditation Day from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Bureau of Standards.
