The role of the PSRU is to facilitate the transformational change within the public service of St. Vincent and the Grenadines through various reform initiatives, Learning and Development Programmes and working in conjunction with varying government Ministries, Departments or Agencies to provide guidance and assistance on reformation. Honouring a powerful legacy 🇻🇨✨

Gulisi, daughter of Paramount Chief Joseph Chatoyer, is celebrated as one of the heroines of Garifuna history. After the Garifuna were exiled from St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 1797, she rose as a leader in exile and helped establish the settlement of Punta Negra in Belize.

Her story is one of strength, resilience, and cultural pride a legacy that continues to be honoured today at the Gulisi Garifuna Museum.

On Wednesday 18th March 2026 the PSRU conducted a one-day training in "Official Communication and Writing" which aims to strengthened Written Communication Skills for Officers within the Public Service.

Participants were exposed to writing in the following areas:
* official correspondence
* memoranda
* email protocol
* Report writing

The workshop targetted Administrative, Clerical and Technical Officers whose duties involve drafting correspondence or engaging in routine official communication.

The one-day worksop was facilitated by Dr. Athalie Caine-Soleyn.

The Public Sector Reform Unit within the Ministry of National Security, continues its Learning and Development programme for 2026, kicking off this year's programme with the Power BI Training course which commenced today 4th March 2026 and will continue tomorrow March 5 at the National Centre for Technological Innovation (NCTI).

A total of forty-one (41) Public Officers inclusive of Administrative, Technical and Senior Officers across the Public Service of SVG will benefit from the course.

The course aims to build the Public Officers' capacity in data visualization and analysis using Microsoft Power BI, a widely used tool for improving efficiency, reporting and evidenced-based decision-making across the public service.

The course is being facilitated by Mr. Charles Burke who will guide the Public Officers in understanding the key concepts, practical applications, and data visualization techniques using Power BI.

The PSRU recognising the demand and responses submitted by various Ministries and Departments for Public Officers exposure to such training, will therefore offer a second cohort of the Power BI course which will be announced soon.
