We are surrounded by water and we import fish.
Six years since they promised fishing facilities for the western end. No design. No contract. No date.
Before anybody comes in the comments asking what the solution is: the solution is to be like Nike - JUST DO IT!
Pick the site.
Use the design.
Sign the contract.
Build the ice, the cold storage, the cleaning space, the dock access.
Hand it to the men who work that water every day.
No law in the way. No study left to run. This was decided six years ago. It just never got done here.

"Where are the solutions? You keep saying what we already know."

You're right. And that's the point.

District 1 has known the solutions for years. So has government. The ferry terminal has a budget and finished studies. The plans for roads and water exist. The money exists.

We're not short on answers. We're short on people doing anything with them.

The best solutions were never going to come from politicians. They come from the people living it. That's where mine come from.

So what's the solution?
Be like Nike. Just do it.

"What has Chad actually done for District 1?"

I've heard it more than once.
Truth is I don't post most of it. You fix the thing and you move on. That's the work, not a press release.
But you asked. So here's one. The basketball court lights had been out for months. Nobody touching them. Somebody mentioned it to me. One week later, back on.

No speech. No staged photo. Just doing what I said I'd do.

Nine years after Irma.
People in parts of District 1 are still dealing with low pressure, brown water, and dry taps.
The solutions are not a mystery.
Government has acknowledged the pipes are old. They've acknowledged the reservoirs are leaking. They've acknowledged the system is failing.
The Premier called it a crisis. The Minister called it a national critical priority.
The question isn't whether we know what needs to be done.
The question is why, after nine years, it still hasn't been done.
