🕊️ Condolences: Steward Sine

​The Labour Department is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our dedicated colleague, Steward Sine, from Pentecost who passed away last night.

​Steward was a highly valued and integral member of the Labour Department team for approximately 14 years, serving diligently as an Employment Relations Labour Officer. His commitment, knowledge, and long-standing service made a significant impact on our department and on the many individuals he assisted throughout his career.

​We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Steward's family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Wonderful to see such a great turn out to the recent Mildura Regional Accelerator Forum (RAF)!

RAFs are held across regional Australia and bring together Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme stakeholders to build community networks. The sessions help ensure PALM scheme workers are supported, and all participants understand their role, oblig*tions and support available to them.

Over 60 stakeholders attended this month's RAF, including PALM scheme employers, team leaders, Pacific and Australian government representatives, community groups and church leaders. The day included breakout sessions, a talanoa circle, presentations and as always - singing!
