CERTIFICATION DES PROJETS DE LOI ADOPTÉS

Port Vila, Jeudi 11 Juin 2026 - Le Greffier du Parlement, Mr. Maxime BANGA certifie que ces projets de Lois ont bien été adoptés par le Parlement puis seront ensuite reférés au Président de la République pour qu'il y donne son consentement

Au total, seize(16) projets de loi ont été adoptés, dont quinze lors de la premiere Session Ordinaire et un lors de la Session Spéciale du 4 Juin dernier.

CERTIFICATION OF DRAFT LAWS ADOPTED

Port Vila, Thursday, June 11, 2026 - The Clerk of Parliament, Mr. Maxime BANGA certifies that these draft Laws have been duly adopted by Parliament and will subsequently be referred to the President of the Republic for his assent.
In total, sixteen (16) draft laws were adopted, fifteen during the first Ordinary Session and one during the Special Session of June 4th.

SPANISH AMBASSADOR PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE SPEAKER

H.E. Ms. Esther Monterrubio Villar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Commonwealth of Australia, with concurrent accreditation to Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Nauru. She is based in Canberra, Australia and has paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Vanuatu, Hon Stephen Dorrick FELIX MA'AU MALFES after having presented her Credentials to the Head Of State, Excellency Nikenike VUROBARAVU, President of the Republic of Vanuatu and following other meetings with government officials.

Parliament Advances Two Key Bills on Day Six of First Ordinary Session
Port Vila, June 1, 2026 – Parliament convened on Monday, 25 May 2026, for the sixth sitting of the First Ordinary Session, advancing two significant pieces of legislation.
The session, chaired by the Honourable Speaker, opened with prayer at 8:40 a.m. after quorum was established.
Two bills were tabled for debate: the Ratifications of Certain Conventions Act No. 2026 and the Electricity Supply (Amendment) Act No. 2026.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Marc Ati introduced the ratifications bill, which sparked contributions from both government and opposition members. The bill passed its First Reading and later cleared the Committee Stage and Second Reading.
In the afternoon, Prime Minister Jotham Napat responded to oral questions from five Members of Parliament between 2:10 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Minister of Climate Change Ralph Regenvanu then introduced the Electricity Supply (Amendment) Act. Following debate, the bill passed its First Reading, Committee Stage, and Second Reading.
The Speaker thanked members for their cooperation and announced a Department of Health training session during the lunch break. Parliament adjourned at 3:25 p.m. with a closing prayer and resumed on Tuesday, 26 May 2026 at 8:30 a.m.

Résumé Séance du Lundi 25.05.26

Port Vila, 1er juin 2026 – Le Parlement s’est réuni le lundi 25 mai 2026 pour la sixième séance de la Première Session Ordinaire, au cours de laquelle deux textes législatifs importants ont été adoptés.
La séance, présidée par l’Honorable Président, a débuté à 8h40 par une prière, après constatation du quorum.
Deux projets de loi ont été soumis au débat : la Loi sur la ratification de certaines conventions, Acte n° 2026, et la Loi portant modification de la fourniture d’électricité, Acte n° 2026.
Le ministre des Affaires étrangères, Marc Ati, a présenté le projet de loi sur les ratifications, qui a suscité des interventions de membres du gouvernement comme de l’opposition. Le texte a été adopté en première lecture, puis a franchi l’étape de la commission et la deuxième lecture à l’unanimité.
Dans l’après-midi, le Premier ministre Jotham Napat a répondu aux questions orales de cinq députés entre 14h10 et 14h30.
Le ministre du Changement climatique, Ralph Regenvanu, a ensuite présenté le projet de loi portant modification de la fourniture d’électricité. Après débat, le texte a été adopté en première lecture, en commission et en deuxième lecture – toutes à l’unanimité,favorables lors de la lecture finale.
Le Président a remercié les députés pour leur coopération et a annoncé une formation du ministère de la Santé prévue pendant la pause déjeuner. Le Parlement a été ajourné à 15h25 après une prière de clôture et a repris ses travaux le mardi 26 mai 2026 à 8h30.
