As Samoa proudly celebrates 64 years of Independence, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation extends its warmest congratulations and heartfelt wishes to all citizens, families, villages, churches, communities, and Samoans living around the world.
Today, we honor the courage, vision, and sacrifice of our foreleaders who paved the way for Samoa to become the first Pacific Island nation to regain its independence. Their unwavering commitment to our people, culture, and identity laid the foundation upon which our nation continues to grow and prosper.
This Independence Day is a reminder of the strength that lies within our unity. As reflected in this year's theme, "Samoa Ua Tasi mo se Amataga Fou", we move forward together with renewed hope, determination, and purpose. While we celebrate our achievements, we also embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, committed to building a stronger and more resilient Samoa for future generations.
The Ministry of Sports and Recreation recognizes the important role that sport and recreation play in uniting our communities, promoting healthy lifestyles, nurturing young talent, and strengthening national pride. Across every field, court, village green, and recreation space, the spirit of Samoa continues to shine brightly through the determination, discipline, and excellence of our people.
As our nation marks this historic milestone, let us continue to uphold the values that define us as Samoans faith in God, respect for one another, service to our communities, and pride in our heritage. Together, these values will guide us toward a future filled with promise and opportunity.
May God continue to bless Samoa, protect our people, and guide our nation as we journey forward in unity and peace.
Happy 64th Independence Day, Samoa!
