Message from Belper Safer Neighbourhood Team:
Crime Prevention.
We are currently suffering with door-to-door salespeople, throughout Belper and the wider area with incidents being reported at Ambergate, Heage, Holbrook etc. It is not an offence to canvas at the door however it is often an unwelcomed visit. There have been several reports of these salespeople being very persistent even to the point of wedging the door open with their foot. My advice is if you think you have one of these people at your door (Look for that large holdall that they will have slung across their shoulders) do not answer the door, if you must speak to them do it a window upstairs if possible and if they will not leave call the police. This will usually result in some parting abuse as they walk away. Whilst unpleasant it is better than finding yourself down some £50 for two tea towels.

Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Angelique Foster, wants to hear your views on crime and community safety.

Throughout the year, the Commissioner runs a survey asking for Derbyshire residents views on crime and community safety. This is done to ensure that the priorities the Commissioner sets for policing, community safety and victims services reflect the issues that matter most to you, wherever you live in the City or the County.

Using the responses from the survey, the Commissioner will work with the Chief Constable to ensure that resources are balanced efficiently with your concerns.

The Commissioner needs to hear from as many people as possible, from all age groups and backgrounds, to ensure the results are fair. This is where we are asking for your help.

If you could share the survey below, it would be greatly appreciated.
