EXPLORING HORIZONS — EXPANDING LINKS THROUGH CONTINUOUS EFFORTS OF CONNECTION
The Professional Regulation Commission – National Capital Region (PRC-NCR), represented by the Examination Section, together with the Board of Optometry, conducted an inspection of Centro Escolar University, located at 9 Mendiola Street, San Miguel, Manila, on 22 July 2026 as part of the evaluation process for its designation as one of the testing centers for future Optometry Practical Licensure Examinations in the National Capital Region.
The inspection was initiated by the Board of Optometry, led by its Chairperson, Honorable Christine A. Samson-Rodriguez, together with Board Members Hon. Fides F. Masanga, Hon. Irene Christine C. Pelino, Hon. Maria Lalaine C. Dumangas, and Hon. Myra A. Obcena. They were joined by representatives from the PRC-NCR Examination Section, Wilma Puyogao and Arcelia Singuit. During the inspection, the team assessed the school's facilities, equipment, and overall condition to determine its capability to serve as one of the testing centers for the aforementioned future licensure examinations.
The Board of Optometry and the PRC-NCR Examination Section reiterated the strict implementation of Memorandum Order No. 57 on Examination Measures Against Cheating and Prohibited Acts, particularly the complete prohibition of electronic devices inside the testing venues during licensure examinations. They further clarified that this policy applies to both the examinees and the patients they bring with them. This measure aims to uphold the confidentiality, validity, and integrity of the licensure examinations and to ensure that all examinees are provided with a fair and impartial examination experience.
