EXPLORING HORIZONS — EXPANDING LINKS THROUGH CONTINUOUS EFFORTS OF CONNECTION

The Professional Regulation Commission – National Capital Region (PRC-NCR), represented by the Examination Section, together with the Board of Optometry, conducted an inspection of Centro Escolar University, located at 9 Mendiola Street, San Miguel, Manila, on 22 July 2026 as part of the evaluation process for its designation as one of the testing centers for future Optometry Practical Licensure Examinations in the National Capital Region.

The inspection was initiated by the Board of Optometry, led by its Chairperson, Honorable Christine A. Samson-Rodriguez, together with Board Members Hon. Fides F. Masanga, Hon. Irene Christine C. Pelino, Hon. Maria Lalaine C. Dumangas, and Hon. Myra A. Obcena. They were joined by representatives from the PRC-NCR Examination Section, Wilma Puyogao and Arcelia Singuit. During the inspection, the team assessed the school's facilities, equipment, and overall condition to determine its capability to serve as one of the testing centers for the aforementioned future licensure examinations.

The Board of Optometry and the PRC-NCR Examination Section reiterated the strict implementation of Memorandum Order No. 57 on Examination Measures Against Cheating and Prohibited Acts, particularly the complete prohibition of electronic devices inside the testing venues during licensure examinations. They further clarified that this policy applies to both the examinees and the patients they bring with them. This measure aims to uphold the confidentiality, validity, and integrity of the licensure examinations and to ensure that all examinees are provided with a fair and impartial examination experience.

21 July 2026—The Professional Regulation Commission – National Capital Region (PRC-NCR) brought its services closer to the medical community with a mobile service held at Cardinal Santos Medical Center, 10 Wilson Street, Greenhills West, San Juan City.

The activity aimed to provide accessible and efficient frontline services to the hospital's medical professionals, allowing them to transact with the Commission without having to travel to any PRC office. The PRC-NCR team recorded a total of 126 transactions, the majority of which were license renewals.

PRC-NCR Extends Services to Public in Support of PCO's "FOI at 10: A Decade of Transparency, A Commitment to Public Trust"

In an effort to make its services closer and easier for clients to avail, the Professional Regulation Commission – National Capital Region (PRC-NCR) delivered a mobile service on 16 to 17 July 2026. During the aid dates, PRC-NCR offered its services to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia. This is relative to PCO’s 10th Anniversary with the theme: “FOI at 10: A Decade of Transparency, A Commitment to Public Trust”. At the end of the 2-day mobile service, the team was able to assist a sum of 32 transactions, which consist of 18 license renewals and 14 account retrievals.

PRC-NCR Holds Two-Day Reorientation for Exam Volunteers, Reinforces Strict No-Gadget Policy and Administers First-Ever Oath of Commitment

The Examination Section of the Professional Regulation Commission – National Capital Region (PRC-NCR), headed by Norman M. De Guzman, conducted a two-day reorientation session on July 16–17, 2026, at Doña Elena Tower in Sta. Mesa, Manila. The event was held for volunteer examination personnel to prepare them for administering licensure examinations.

The two-day activity was conducted for volunteers applying to serve as room watchers during licensure examinations. On the first day, a total of 131 volunteers attended the gathering, while 268 volunteers participated on the second day. One of the primary objectives of the reorientation was to reiterate the strict implementation of Memorandum Order No. 57 on Examination Measures Against Cheating and Prohibited Acts, particularly the total prohibition on bringing any electronic devices into the testing venue during licensure examinations. The Examination Section acknowledged the inconvenience this policy may cause examinees. However, they explained that Memorandum Order No. 57 was originally intended to be fully implemented in 2020. They emphasized the need to finally enforce the policy in its entirety to uphold fairness and prevent incidents and attempts of cheating.

During the discussion, Licensure and Registration Division-Chief Audrey Ana Amparo delivered a brief message to the volunteers. She shared that, compared with previous years, PRC-NCR has become stricter and more straightforward in implementing its rules and regulations. She also highlighted that PRC-NCR has been ISO-certified, reflecting its commitment to continuously improving standards across its processes, regulations, certifications, and examinations. She concluded her message by expressing confidence in the volunteers' professionalism and dedication, adding that they play an important role in maintaining the integrity of the PRC.

Additionally, for the first time in the history of the volunteers’ reorientation, an Oath of Commitment was administered and recited by the volunteers. The oath aims to reinforce their commitment, dedication, and responsibility to uphold examination rules and standards and to ensure that all examination procedures are properly observed.

Ultimately, the gathering aimed to reiterate the do's and don'ts during the conduct of licensure examinations, particularly the total prohibition of electronic devices inside testing venues, a policy with which all proctors must be thoroughly familiar. The two-day reorientation concluded successfully, with PRC-NCR personnel and volunteers gathering for a group photo while exchanging smiles and greetings.

Examinees are hereby informed that any examinee found carrying electronic devices — including, but not limited to, mobile phones, smartwatches, earpods, and laptops upon entry to the examination venue or room on any day of the conduct of the examination will be barred from taking the examination.

This notice is issued pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 57 and shall be strictly observed.

Rescheduling of the Landscape Architects Licensure Examination

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) informs all concerned examinees that the July 2026 Landscape Architects Licensure Examination (LALE) is RESCHEDULED to 14–15 July 2026 due to the imminent threat posed by Super Typhoon Bavi. Consequently, the release of examination results shall be on 16 July 2026.

PRC Celebrates Manila Day!

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC / Commission) joins all Manileños and Manileñas as the city celebrates its 455th Founding Anniversary on June 24, 2026 (Wednesday).

Adjunct with Proclamation No. 1320, s. 2026, as signed by His Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., declared the day as a Special (Non-Working) Day in the City of Manila; thus, all operations and transactions scheduled at PRC – Morayta, Robinsons Place Manila, and Lucky China Town will be temporarily suspended.

All affected appointments and transactions will be accommodated and addressed on the next working day, June 25, 2026 (Thursday).

The Professional Regulation Commission – National Capital Region (PRC-NCR) joins the nation in commemorating the 128th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence from Spanish rule in 1898 in Kawit, Cavite.

This year's celebration carries the theme, “Freedom, Future, History,” which, according to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), pays tribute to the nation's heroes, connects the present with the past, and inspires Filipinos to remain resilient and united as they move toward the future.

May this celebration serve as a reminder to all of the hardships and challenges that our heroes courageously fought against and overcame. Let us never allow ourselves to become slaves again in our own country. Let us never permit ourselves to be subjugated by foreign powers once more.

The PRC - National Capital Region (PRC-NCR) announces the temporary suspension of operations at PRC-NCR offices and its Offsite Service centers on 12 June 2026 (Friday), in celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day.

This is under Proclamation No. 1006 declaring the regular holidays and special (non-working) days for the year 2026.

Appointments on the said date will be accommodated upon resumption of operations.
