I would like to thank everyone for their support during this election. Could not of done it without you! Congratulations to everyone elected. Now is the time for us to get to work for ALL citizens of the city! Whether you voted for me or not, rest assured that I will represent you with the class and professionalism that I have routinely demonstrated during my 25 year career as a public school adminstrator. Thanks again!

First of all I want to thank the 400+ citizens of Godley that early voted in the city election! Just a reminder that you still have one more opportunity to cast your vote if you have not done so already. You can vote at the city park pavilion anytime on Saturday between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. The park will be full of activities that day as well hosted by the Godley Chamber of Commerce. Bring the family out and enjoy the day together but please excercise your right to vote to choose the leadership of the city! Thanks again for your support!

Hello I want to let everyone know that I am going to run for city council in the May election. Please take a few minutes to read more about my background, experience, and vision. Thank you.

I grew up in Crowley but I have been a part of the Godley community since 1999 and have resided in the city since 2001. I am a 57 year old retired educator with 33 years of total experience with 25 of those as a campus/district administrator. I spent 23 of those 25 years as an administrator for Godley ISD. Eighteen as the middle school principal from 1999-2017 and the final five years as a district administrator over a variety of district programs including Human Resources, Federal Programs and School Safety. In addition to my administrative duties, I also drove a daily bus route for the district for many years. When my children were younger, I was also involved in the local baseball and football organizations serving as a coach, board member, and eventually as president of both associations. I am currently working part time for the school district in a small support role for the athletic department. Occasionally I may also be driving a team to their game or covering the occasional bus route. Personally, I have been married to my wife Angie for 33 years. Angie was the Intermediate School Nurse for 22 years until she had to retire in 2022. We have two adult sons, Taylor (31) and Zach (26), who both graduated from GHS. Taylor was a 2010 graduate having attended Godley schools since the 4th grade and Zach was a 2014 graduate and attended Godley schools since he was in Pre-Kindergarten. Both were involved in multiple sports and activities and we as a family have bled Wildcat purple for a long time! Angie and I enjoy traveling when we can and most of the time I can be found either working on a project around the house, reading a book, working out, or getting “wind therapy” on my Harley.

I feel that I can draw from my experience and skills to help the city navigate through the trials and tribulations that a fast-growing community will encounter. I have extensive knowledge and experience reading, interpreting and applying relevant federal, state and local laws and policy to the decision-making process; utilizing current data and trends to identify needs, establish priorities, create plans and evaluate outcomes; conflict resolution skills; communication skills; and proficient in the use of most technology. As a school administrator, I always tried to demonstrate good stewardship with our budgets whether the funding was from local, state or federal sources of revenue. I truly believed that it was important to treat others with respect to get respect and to remain open to differing opinions while remaining fair and consistent. Honesty has always been the best policy and I believe in providing feedback that is based on facts and not solely on opinion. I believe in accountability, transparency and taking ownership of the results of you and your team’s actions, both positive and negative. I feel being accessible is important as well as demonstrating a common sense approach to problem solving. Last but not least, I feel that I have routinely demonstrated integrity in my dealings and that I am dependable and professional.

As a council member, I would want to focus on bridging the gap between new and old Godley to bring stability. Building a community that is poised to accept the challenges that growth presents together. A community that is safe, prosperous, and exhibits pride. I would also like to focus on economic growth and encourage business and commerce development to meet the growing needs of a growing population.

I am up for this challenge and look forward to being given the opportunity to utilize my experiences for the advancement of our city.
