Earlier today, I cast my vote at PU 025, Ward A6 in Epe LGA in the ongoing local government polls in the state.

It's important that, as patriotic citizens, we perform our civic responsibility. Our democracy depends on our participation for its survival. Therefore, I commend every Lagosian who came out to exercise their franchise.

Beyond voting, we must hold our elected representatives accountable. Government must work for all.

The Holy Month is here again. Ramadan offers a great opportunity for us Muslims to purify our mind, body, heart and soul by fasting and praying to Almighty Allah.

We give thanks to Almighty Allah for sparing lives to witness this glorious month.

Beyond fasting for 30 days, we are expected to rededicate ourselves to self-sacrifice and abstain from wrongdoings in accordance with the will of our Creator.

I join Christian faithfuls in Epe Local Government, Lagos East Senatorial District and Lagos State at large to celebrate this special day.

Without any shadow of doubt, Easter comes with the great lessons of sacrifice, perseverance, love, tolerance and ultimately victory as portrayed in the journey of our Lord Jesus Christ. These virtues, amongst others, offer us a guide on how to lead fulfilling and purposeful lives.

As we commemorate the rise of the Saviour from the tomb after crucification, we must internalise the invaluable teachings of Christ in our everyday doings.

More importantly, we must rededicate ourselves to the mission to better the lives of our people, foster development and bring forth the Epe of our dreams.

Yesterday, I joined my traditional age group (Egbe Bobajoko Aleke) in my position as 'Chief Onikotun' to celebrate the Okoshi festival which is part of the Eebi Epe Festival.

The group seized the opportunity to declare their support for my ambition to run as the next Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Being a lover of tradition, I took part in the activities to honour our treasured heritage. Our culture, no doubts, makes us a better people. TheOmoEpePataki Agenda would be looking at ways to amplify our tradition beyond the shores of Epe.

Today, we celebrate the greatest gifts to human existence -- our women.

From building homes, to raising future leaders, to growing our economy, to contributing to nation building, we appreciate their invaluable contributions to our world. Indeed, what can we ever do without the women in our lives.

I join other people across the globe to extol their resourcefulness, steadfastness, and unrivalled usefulness. This day reminds us of their courage, determination and conviction in the midst of the challenges thrown at them in this world of ours.

More than ever, particularly at this point in our political dispensation, the need for women inclusion in the decision making process cannot be overemphasized.

It is said that the female gender constitute half of the Nigerian population with disproportional representation in governance in Epe.

If privileged to serve as the Executive Chairman of Epe LGA, my administration will support affirmative gender policy to give women equal representation in elective and appointive positions. Beyond political representation, we would look at eliminating barriers against women in access to opportunities.

Changing the narrative for the benefit of all is our priority.

PROFILE OF QUAM OWOLABI ANIMASHAUN AKA OMOEPEPATAKI

BIOGRAPHY

Prince Quam Owolabi Animashaun better known as OmoEpePataki was born into the royal family of HRH Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, Oba and paramount ruler of Epeland. He was born in Ebutte-Metta, the heart of Lagos Mainland where he began his elementary education. He is a proper Lagos bred personality who has spent all his life in Lagos State except for a brief stint to get tertiary education which took him across the country.


EDUCATION

A young Quam started his Education at Pampers Private School in Surulere then proceeded to Igbobi College, Yaba. He later transferred to Epe Grammar School. Prior to his university sojourn, Quam attended the Pre-Varsity Educational Centre in Ilesa where he completed is secondary school education. He later proceeded to the University of Abuja where he obtained a degree in Political Science.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER

OmoEpePataki started his professional journey at KAPHS Engineering Services where he worked as the Head of Operations before moving on to DOOA Anis Royal Investment LTD where he serves as a Director. He also served the Sand Miners Association of Lagos State as the Financial Secretary. Quam was also the past Vice Chairman of the Sand Miners Taskforce.

A former member of the Miners' Local Caretaker committee set up by the Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Quam Animashaun has a penchant for construction, building, and manufacturing which saw the establishment of Hannis Royale Emporiums Limited, a conglomerate which deals in Real Estate, Automobile marketing as well as Oil and Gas. Its customer base includes a long list of clientele who have over the years remained faithful to the brand due to its professional and prompt delivery of services. Quam Animashaun serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Hannis Royale.


LEADERSHIP

As an undergraduate, Quam Animashaun played active roles in the student movement which made him prominent amongst his peers in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Science, and the entire University of Abuja. He was also a rallying point for Lagosians in UniAbuja due to his diligence and calm attitude to handling issues. This saw him serves as the Public Relations Officer, then later Director of Social before he was finally elected as the President of the National Union of Lagos State Students (NULASS, University of Abuja Chapter).


FAMILY

Quam is happily married to Olufunto, a professional who currently works with Guinness Nigeria, a Diageo company with a presence in Lagos, Nigeria. She is the Territory Activation Manager. The couple is blessed with kids.

Quam Animashaun is one of the sons of Oba Engr. Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun and Engr. Mrs (Olori) Morenike Animashaun.


AWARDS

Quam Animashaun has won several awards for his business prowess some of which include the 2019 MAYA Awards as the African CEO of the Year as well as the 2020 Esteem Awards' CEO of the Year.


PHILANTHROPY

Over the years, Quam Animashaun has focused on helping the less privileged in his Epe community. His philanthropist activity is however mainly focused on the education of indigent persons, young people, and women.



OMOEPEPATAKI

A courageous Youth, Quam has always had an unflinching zeal in the general development of others and he is always eager to see others succeed. He is a politician with a focus to better the lives of the people especially the women and young people of Epe Local Government Area.

As a pragmatic, charitable, and grassroots person, Quam Animashaun sees community service as a veritable tool for social development especially as regards the Youths.

He has structured his life with discipline, integrity, respect, diligence, vision, and purpose.
