people act like service work is beneath them cause they think it's just kids who goofed off in school. it's not. most pick it cause you don't gotta be perfect, just efficient. that's the freedom part.
pay people enough so tips ain't rent, they're just "keep my seat warm" money. that's why i love when the bartender tells someone to move cause that's my seat. i earned it by showing up and tipping right.
i'm 32 now. i'm done dumbing myself down so old dudes at the bar can pretend they got a shot. she's nice cause you tip. it's not that deep lol.
and to the girls working through college, we know you're just being nice to pay tuition. we see it. respect the hustle.
