Friends, in case you missed it, Reduced Range Practice Rockets were recently fired by the Romanian 8th Field Artillery Brigade at the Smardan Training Area in Romania, and supported by the U.S. Army's 4th Battalion, 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade, attached to “Task Force 82.”
The artillery exercise afforded the artillery crew members the opportunity to conduct fire missions on the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or , to increase readiness and proficiency on the combat platform.
The HIMARS launchers the Romanian Armed Forces use are U.S. missile and rocket systems that fire the Guided M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System, as well as the MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile System. The MLRS rocket has a range of approximately 70 kilometers, and the can reach as far as 300 Kilometers.
