Tebag Elementary School conducted a Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping Activity spearheaded by the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) officers under the guidance and supervision of Madam Ruth Villota, our Head Teacher. The activity aimed to strengthen learnersโ awareness of safety and disaster preparedness and to identify possible hazards within the school premises.
During the activity, the SELG officers and participating learners carefully observed different areas of the school, including classrooms, walkways, stairways, entrances and exits, playgrounds, and other common areas. They identified possible hazards and unsafe conditions that could pose risks to learners, teachers, and other members of the school community.
The learners actively participated in documenting and mapping the identified hazards. Through this hands-on activity, they learned the importance of being observant, responsible, and proactive in maintaining a safe and disaster-resilient school environment. The activity also encouraged learners to work together, communicate their observations, and suggest appropriate safety measures.
Madam Ruth Villota provided guidance and support throughout the activity, ensuring that the learners understood the purpose of hazard mapping and the importance of reporting unsafe conditions. Her leadership encouraged the SELG officers to take an active role in promoting safety and preparedness among their fellow learners.
The Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping Activity was successfully conducted through the cooperation and active participation of the SELG officers, learners, and school personnel. The activity not only helped identify potential hazards but also empowered learners to become responsible partners in creating a safer school community.
Overall, the activity was a meaningful and educational experience for the learners of Tebag Elementary School. It strengthened their sense of responsibility, teamwork, and awareness of safety practices and contributed to the schoolโs continuing efforts toward a safe, secure, and disaster-resilient learning environment.
