City of Palatka, the Putnam County Board of County Commissioners, and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office Announce Cold Weather Shelter Opening
Palatka, FL — The City of Palatka, the Putnam County Board of County Commissioners, and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announce the opening of a temporary cold weather shelter to provide a safe and warm place for residents during expected cold temperatures.
The cold weather shelter will be located at the Robert H. Jenkins Northside Community & Recreation Center, formerly known as Jenkins Middle School, at 1900 Napoleon Street.
Shelter Hours:
• Opens: Wednesday, January 28th at 7:00 PM
• Closes: Thursday, January 29th at 7:00 AM
The shelter is open to residents of the City of Palatka and Putnam County.
Please note, no pets are permitted at the shelter. Individuals planning to utilize the shelter are encouraged to make alternate arrangements for their animals prior to arrival.
The Palatka Police Department and the City of Palatka remain committed to the safety and well-being of our community, especially during periods of severe or hazardous weather. Residents are encouraged to share this information with anyone who may be in need of shelter during the cold overnight hours.
