I’m running for the people who can’t vote for me yet—even if they do stalk me and doxx my address.

(Help me out, parents)

In honor of all the teachers heading back to work this week—including those of us who teach the “useless” subjects…

You matter more than you know. Sometimes you’re the only bright spot in a child’s entire day.

So look for those bright moments this year. Or do what I do—keep a memory album to remind myself that, even on the hardest days, what we do matters. It’s not all stress (ok, a lot of it is 😅)

Wishing every Spartanburg County teacher a great school year. I’ll be praying for you all.

Thank you for all those who wished me a happy birthday! We celebrated this weekend with a trip through Landrum and the farmer’s market, then through the mountains to end up at Lake Lure. I’ve always loved this area—it was great to see the result of the recovery effort.

By the way, this right here is the face Kit makes when I say “smile.”

It’s been a few days since I’ve posted—had a birthday, got a few seconds of relaxation. So here’s a positive message about what I’m running on.

It’s important to remember: the decisions we make today will shape where our children go to school, how they get there, whether schools have room to expand, and what kind of community they’ll inherit decades from now.

Smart growth means thinking beyond the next project and planning for the next generation.

These are just my candid thoughts about what I saw last night.

This campaign has never been about political parties, but about whether local government serves the people or the powerful.

Every resident deserves transparency, respect, and a voice, regardless of who they are or how much influence they have.

That is the Spartanburg County I want to help build.

Just left Landrum Farmer’s Market. Soon as we got out of the car, Kit started taking off toward the “moo-sec” coming from this bluegrass group. Once they’d finished their first song, he dropped his toy and clapped his little hands together louder than I’ve ever heard him. We probably stood there for around 4 songs—it was the stillest he’s been since 5 this morning.

At one point, one of the musicians got up and said to me “just so you know, we’re with you.” I had no idea they knew who I was, but that’s going to get me through the day.

Then we got some spicy onigiri, and mochi so authentic it’s still stuck to my hand. If you know your mochi, you know that’s a compliment.

Landrum Farmer’s Market: 10/10, be back again.

What makes someone “qualified”—spending years in the political system, or living side-by-side with the community they want to represent?

17/07/2026

We’re very blessed to live in the upstate—which means we’ve got a lot to lose. Always ask the question:

Who are we growing for?

15/07/2026

Just some thoughts after the city council last night. I was asked directly about my approach to growth, but I could have used Landrum itself as an example. It’s a place where preservation and growth don’t compete, because both benefit the residents who already live there.

That’s the kind of thinking I’d love to see across Spartanburg County.

I’m already looking forward to the market in Landrum this Saturday. Anyone else going?
