We're excited to announce the distribution of our new HoCo Fresh plaques to farms throughout Howard County. The HoCo Fresh program is an initiative designed to connect residents with the wide variety of products grown right here at home. Encouraging residents to shop local and support the agricultural that's integral to our home. Look for a HoCo Fresh plaque at your local farm to see if they are participating. All farms are listed on www.HoCoFarms.com . From fresh produce to unique local goods, discover what they have to offer!

Some of our new HoCo Fresh Farms are also participants in our New & Beginning Farmer Program. These farms are taking their first steps in agriculture with small plots in West Friendship. This program is opening doors for new farmers to grow, learn, and thrive—ensuring that Howard County’s strong farming tradition continues for generations to come.

Howard County agriculture is rooted in innovation, sustainability, and community. With programs like these, its future is brighter than ever.

In addition to the fun and great food everyone is enjoying at the Howard County Fair, we're reminding you that this week is also National Farmers Market Week. It’s truly the perfect time to celebrate our farmers and the hard work that brings fresh, local food to our tables. Visit a market, meet a farmer, and support the roots of your food system. The fair and NFMW both end on Sat. 8/9.
