Measure S will upgrade aging pipelines and dams to protect against earthquakes and climate change. Measure S will ensure Santa Clara County residents are better protected from the next disaster that hits our area, including droughts, earthquakes, wildfires, and landslides. Measure S also improves the reliability of our water supply and helps prepare for natural disasters with upgrades to outdated, seismically unsafe pipelines and dams that deliver water throughout the county.

Measure S helps preserve our local drinking water supply by reducing toxins, hazards, and contaminants in our rivers, lakes, and streams. Some of the proposed projects included in Measure S are continuing to remove mercury in our reservoirs, as well as partnering with cities and other agencies to reduce runoff pollution and thereby stop contaminants from entering our water in the first place.
