Mga mommy, importanteng nabibigyan si baby ng wastong nutrisyon, lalo na sa panahon ng sakuna at kalamidad.

Ang breastmilk o gatas ng ina ay libre, accessible, at hindi mapapantayan ang long term benefits. Ito ang pinakamainam na pagkain para kay baby. Narito ang ilang paraan para masigurong natatanggap niya pa rin ito sa gitna ng disasters o emergencies:

Panatilihin ang tamang pagpapasuso. Kung posible, ipagpatuloy ang pagpapasuso kahit sa gitna ng krisis. Makatutulong ito sa pag-stabilize ng immune system ni baby.

Maghanda ng milk storage. I-express at i-imbak nang ligtas at maayos ang breastmilk. Ibigay ito kay baby gamit baso o tasa.
Kung hindi kaya magpasuso at walang milk storage, humingi ng tulong mula sa malusog na wet nurse na pwedeng magpasuso kay baby.

Maghanap ng mga organisasyon o institusyon na nagbibigay ng tulong para sa breastmilk supply, tulad ng human milk banks.

Ngayong Breastfeeding Awareness Month, muling ipinapaalala ng NNC ang napakarami at hindi mapapantayang benepisyo ng pagpapasuso sa mag-ina, sa pamilya, at sa komunidad.

Bisitahin ang First 1000 Days PH at National Nutrition Council Official pages para sa karagdagang impormasyon tungkol sa breastfeeding, o pumunta sa pinakamalapit na health center para magabayan ukol sa breastmilk expression at iba pang kinakailangang serbisyo.

The National Nutrition Council supports the Breastfeeding Awareness Month, pursuant to the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009 or Republic Act 10028.

This year’s global theme “Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All” aims to celebrate breastfeeding mothers in all their diversity, throughout their breastfeeding journeys, while showcasing the ways families, societies, communities and health workers can have the back of every breastfeeding mother.

This month of August, the NNC reminds everyone of the incomparable benefits and importance of breastfeeding in achieving Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat. Breastfeeding, especially during the first 2 years of life, is one of the best buys against malnutrition and noncommunicable diseases. Let us continue to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding.
