COVID-19 Remobilization

From Texas Wing Commander:
NHQ has approved our plan to enter Phase 2 Remobilization, as of 12 Oct 2020.
The latest plan and Phases for all of CAP can be found at

https://www.gocivilairpatrol.com/covid-19-remobilization

Documentation from the Health Services Officer.
Prevention and Planning
Temperature Screening guidelines

For all activities in Texas Wing
Mask and Social Distancing protocols are required, per Governor Abbot’s orders
Indoor masks will be worn
Outdoor within 6-foot distance, masks will be worn
In the presence of a High Risk member, masks will be worn
Health Check and Screening protocols are required, INCLUDING attendance
Disinfecting of touched surfaces and hand washing is also required
Members coming from Red areas (https://covidactnow.org/us/tx) are encourged to attend virtually when possible. They will need to pass the health screening to attend in person and they will wear masks.

Units can plan on normal meetings with groups of 50 for a day or short time activity.
GT, SAREX and General ES training are approved.
Cadet O-Flights can resume but limit the amount of ‘hangar time’ for those not flying.
Cadet PT Times and group sessions need to take extra precautions in keeping the groups and individuals spread out since masking is not required.
School fairs and recruiting events are approved if the venue is participating in the required cleaning.
Activities like Airshows or Rocket Launch events are also approved with a proper ops-plan on a one-off basis.

Prohibited Activities
Overnight activities, or groups exceeding 50. The group of 50 is not only members but all people attending the event that will interact. If a prospective member or guest attends an event they must pass the health screening and be included in the attendance log.
Members and parents are responsible for their own comfort in attending any activity. No one will be penalized for opting out of in-person meetings.

In order to maintain the safest environment for our members, and since the COVID-19 situation is fluid, regressions are possible. Should public health data indicate a need to revert the entire wing to Phase I, two-way communication between the wing and the COVID-19 Plans team should take place to communicate the best course of action.

Please communicate this to the units and the membership. Do not be afraid to ask questions. This is an unpresented time for all of us and we are entrusted to keep our membership safe.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, Stay Vigilant

Hi I am a patron member of Civil Air Patrol and USAF Veteran I also collect Civil Air Patrol patches and their heraldry and was wondering if I could trade, buy or make a donation for your Squadron patch. If you have any other versions of your patch or other Civil Air Patrol patches new or used I would be interested in those too. I can send a check, money order or paypal along with a return envelope.
