Dr. Rebekkah Meixner-Hanks recently delivered an eye-opening Pinnacle Presentation on the magic–and the reality–of stagecraft to members of the IU Southeast community.

Recounting her own journey in the field, Meixner-Hanks revealed not only a mastery of her art but also a dedication to preparing students for career success through immersion in every aspect of theater’s many technical challenges.

IU Southeast’s Greek organizations are out and about today! The PIKEs are set up with their stationary bikes in the Commons on day two of their four day Pedaling for Pups event to benefit Kentucky Humane Society. So far they have pedaled their way to over $1,000 in donations. Join in with Alpha Epsilon sorority today for Denim Day, a global protest movement against sexual violence and victim blaming.

IU Southeast Greek organizations are out and about on campus today. The PIKE riders are set up in the Commons today on day two of their four day Pedaling for Pups event to benefit Kentucky Humane Society. IU Southeast recognized its Distinguished Alumnus and Alumni Award of Excellence honorees as part of IU Day activities at a ceremony and reception on April 22, 2026.

Floyds K***s native, Andrew Takami, was awarded the honor of IU Southeast Distinguished Alumnus.

“It’s truly a privilege to be recognized by my alma mater, Indiana University Southeast, on IU Day and to receive the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award,” said Takami. “I’m deeply honored—thank you.

NWSB joined in presenting the IU Southeast Distinguished Alumni Award.

Alumni Award of Excellence honorees include: Joe Boesing, Dr. Rebekah Dement, Dr. Allison Lyle, Emily McClelland, Jaime Lamkin, and Dr. Karen Richie.

Sixty faculty and staff at Indiana University Southeast were honored on IU Day, Wednesday, April 22, for their length of service to the university, which total 925 years.

Employees were recognized for 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, 35 years, and 55 years of service.

Over 200 Grenadiers and future Grenadiers attended Admitted Students Day/GusFest, a highlight event here on the IU Southeast campus. Incoming students were able to register and take care of the "business" of becoming a student, and everyone had a great time enjoying the food, music, games, and booths.
