Leader and Member of Labain Criminal Group Surrender, Warrants Implemented in Zamboanga Sibugay
As part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen peace and security, the leader and one member of the Labain Criminal Group (LCG) voluntarily submitted themselves to authorities and were formally served their warrants of arrest during a coordinated activity in Brgy. Sanito, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.
The surrenderers were identified as Yasher Indal Hassan, also known as “Almain Apidol Labain,” believed to be the head of the Labain Criminal Group, and Mahmod I. Kalim, an active member of the same group operating in the province.
It was witnessed by HON. ANGELITO B. ANIÑON, Municipal Mayor of Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay; PCOL BARNARD DANIE V. DASUGO, Provincial Director of the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office (ZSBPPO); and BGEN SAMUEL G. YUNQUE PA, Commander of the 102nd Infantry “IGSOON” Brigade of the Philippine Army.
Authorities described the peaceful surrender and serving of arrest warrants as a result of the strong coordination among the Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, and local government units in promoting peace, order, and public safety in the province.
Hon. Angelito B. Aniñon emphasized that the Local Government Unit of Tungawan remains open to dialogue and coordination with individuals who are willing to abandon unlawful activities and return to the fold of the law through peaceful surrender and reintegration programs.
He also encouraged remaining members of criminal groups to cooperate with authorities, peacefully surrender, and support the government’s continuing efforts toward achieving lasting peace, stability, and sustainable development in Zamboanga Sibugay Province.
