November is Filariasis Awareness Month in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Lymphatic filariasis is a neglected tropical disease (NTD) commonly known as elephantiasis. In the Philippines, 40 out of 46 provinces have reached lymphatic filariasis elimination status with 7 million Filipinos still at risk in the remaining provinces. The Department of Health‘s national filariasis elimination program is doing mass drug administration campaign to these remaining provinces while the provinces under elimination status are under continuous monitoring.
