🩵 Our budget reflects our values. I'm proud that this year's doubles state funding for r**e crisis centers, a long-overdue investment in workers that provide survivors with counseling, advocacy, medical accompaniment, and hope during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

This is a victory for every advocate, every survivor who shared their story, and everyone who refused to accept that flat funding was good enough. Our work to support survivors is not over, but this hard-fought win is worth celebrating.

Last week at the Capitol, the Prescription Drug Copay Fairness Act (HB 2226) advanced out of the PA House Insurance Committee. This is legislation I introduced to help make healthcare more affordable by ensuring patients get the full benefit of copay assistance and protecting them from surprise bills. Too many Pennsylvanians struggle to afford the rising costs of prescription drugs and this commonsense bill is a step in the right direction.

Beyond my bill to lower medication costs, last week the PA House passed legislation to help municipalities navigate data centers and many other impactful bills:

HB 2496 – Allowing municipalities to place a 180-day pause on consideration of data center applications while they develop the proper ordinances for their community: https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb2496

HB 2650 – Limiting the equipment sales tax exemption to those that earn Governor’s Responsible Infrastructure Development certification: https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb2650

The North Hills School District Board of Education is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the school director seat left vacant by the passing of Dr. Anthony Hall.

We are happy to announce that Chair Kate Garfinkel and Vice Chair John Ukenye won today’s county reorganization.

We had an awesome 67% turnout, thanks to all who came to the Southside to vote.

Events like this can’t happen without the many volunteers. Thank you to all, including Pittsburgh Fire Fighters.

Thanks to all the candidates for running and participating in this rigorous democratic process.
