I was honored to lead the fall meeting of the MS Faculty and Staff Association for Community Colleges today in Ridgeland from the other side of the podium as president.

I am so proud to be a part of this organization of like-minded professionals. If you are an employee of the MS Community College System, I encourage you to consider joining your local chapter on your campus.

As our branded key benefit states, WE are the unified voice for affecting change that supports the needs of community college faculty and staff. Today, over 30 leaders from 8 communuty colleges came together to continue a discussion of unification, advocacy and leadership.

MFSACC is currently undergoing an exciting rebrand and we are look forward to unveiling the new look and updated vision of our organization in the new year!

Local Association Spotlight: Itawamba Community College Employee Association

ICC is celebrating it's 75th Anniversary this year! To add to the celebration, ICCEA invites retirees to visit all three locations to share highlights from their career and motivational moments with its membership.

Seated with instructor and former recruiter/counselor Allyson Lloyd Cummings and current Director of Recruitment, Michael Holloway, the legendary Max Munn is also joined by a host of ICC employees after his Leadership Legends talk today at the Fulton campus Library.

We were honored Max joined the ICC Employee Association for a inspiring look at his ICC journey! He told us he worked at the college for 29 years and has been retired for 20 years! It was inspiring to hear him talk about the changes he saw over his 29 years with the college. Max noted a constant in his tenure was always the relationships fostered along the way with great colleagues and the wonderful students.

While some are new, many of the employees in the room have been at ICC for 20-25 years or more and remember Max both as his students and as his colleague. They all enjoyed reminiscing of the "good old days."

Today was a nice reminder of the fact that even though time passes rather quickly we can take a minute to leave the "busy" and reconnect with those that forged the path before us to glean from their legendary expertise. We (both ICC and personally speaking) are who we are because of people like Max Munn!

Thank you Max, for your service to the MS Community College System, recruiting, counseling, and to our home at ICC.
