Student Partnerships for Global Health SPGH is a student organization at Yale University dedicated to global health research, education and service through interdisciplinary, ethical teamwork

Student Partnerships for Global Health is a Yale undergraduate organization dedicated to sending interdisciplinary teams of students to work alongside in-country partner organizations on global health projects around the world. The organization was launched in 2010 by Sam Vesuna, Yale ’12, who built a partnership between Yale students and Manglaralto Hospital in Ecuador called the Yale-Ecuador HIV

Clinic Initiative. Over the past few years, the organization has evolved, expanding its focus beyond HIV and beyond Ecuador. Today, we have active partnerships in Manglaralto, Ecuador and León, Nicaragua. Our goal is to continue to expand our organization to better serve the global community in the most effective and ethical way we can.

"My experience with SPGH was a powerful, formative experience that affected my career goals and my world-view. Speaking with women in local Nicaraguan clinics about HPV and cervical cancer was amazing and constructive, particularly when working with a group of like-minded, passionate team members dedicated to improving the lives of these women. Beyond the clinics and our research, getting to explore and experience a new country and lifestyle was eye-opening and fun, especially with my team! I would not have been able to accomplish what I did, nor be headed to medical school this fall, if not for SPGH and this experience. Thank you SPGH!"

Interested in conducting global health research this summer?
Student Partnerships for Global Health is now accepting applications for Summer 2018!

Student Partnerships for Global Health (SPGH) is a Yale student organization dedicated to sending interdisciplinary teams of 3-4 students to work alongside in-country partner organizations on global health research and health education projects in Ecuador, Nicaragua, and New Haven for 8-10 weeks during the summer.

If you're interested, fill out the application from the link below and send a current resume or CV to [email protected] and [email protected] by Monday October 16th at 11:59 pm.
