🎉❤️ This morning, the C-S Elementary Panther Family surprised Mrs. Peters with a festive walk-in to celebrate her retirement!

Mrs. Peters has made a lasting impact on countless students, families, and staff members throughout her years of service. While we will certainly miss seeing her each day, we are excited for her as she begins this well-deserved new chapter.

Thank you, Mrs. Peters, for your dedication, kindness, and commitment to our Panther Family. We wish you all the happiness, relaxation, and adventure that retirement brings! 🐾

🏕️🔥 First Grade Went Camping! 🔥🏕️

C-S first graders traded their desks for a campsite and spent the day enjoying an unforgettable classroom camping adventure yesterday!

Students designed tents, tie-dyed colorful creations, used flashlights for special activities, gathered around a classroom campfire to share favorite memories from the year, and even enjoyed delicious s'mores. From creative projects to cozy reading spots, every part of the day was filled with laughter, learning, and fun.

As the school year comes to a close, experiences like these help create lasting memories and celebrate all the growth, friendships, and accomplishments our students have achieved throughout first grade.

Thank you, Mrs. Gray, for sharing this memorable experience! ❤️🏕️

Students in Mrs. Taunt’s Social Studies class had the unique opportunity to hear from Mrs. Lyke-Jones, who shared her personal experiences growing up in Chicago during the Civil Rights Movement. Her firsthand stories brought history to life, giving students a powerful perspective that goes far beyond the pages of a textbook.

What happens when science class meets the fire department? 🚒🔥

Students in Mr. Himebauch’s class got a firsthand look at fire safety thanks to the Climax Township Fire Department. From extinguisher training to firefighter demonstrations, students learned practical skills while exploring the science behind fire prevention and emergency response.

A huge thank you to our local firefighters for investing in our students and community! ❤️🧯

🔎 Digging Into History!

Before ever picking up a trowel, our 6th grade students spent weeks building the skills archaeologists use in the field. Under the guidance of Mr. Nathaniel Easlick, Junior High Social Studies Teacher, students explored concepts such as making inferences from observations, the importance of context, stratigraphy, graphing and recording data, and even how archaeologists locate sites using tools like LiDAR technology.

Those lessons came to life through an incredible hands-on archaeological dig experience led in partnership with Mrs. Sue Reichert, C-S Board of Education President. Over several days, students worked collaboratively to excavate artifacts, analyze evidence, document discoveries, and interpret what their findings revealed about past cultures. From mapping excavation units and screening soil to examining artifacts and recording data, students experienced the real-world work of archaeologists firsthand.

Learning moved beyond the textbook as students combined critical thinking, teamwork, scientific observation, and historical inquiry to uncover the past.

A huge Panther Thank You to Mrs. Reichert and the dedicated volunteers who shared their time, expertise, and passion to make this unforgettable learning opportunity possible. 🐾💙

💛 A Sweet Farewell and Birthday Treat💙

As C-S Panther, Amelia celebrates her final elementary school birthday and prepares for the transition to junior high next year, she chose to share her favorite summer treat—homemade strawberry shortcake—with the Climax-Scotts Elementary staff.

Along with the delicious dessert, Amelia presented staff with a heartfelt letter thanking them for the memories, encouragement, and support they have provided throughout her elementary years. Her thoughtful words and kind gesture touched the hearts of everyone who received them.

Moments like these remind us that education is about so much more than academics—it's about the relationships, connections, and lasting impact we have on one another.

Thank you, Amelia, for the sweet treat and for being such a wonderful part of our Panther family.

📚 Reading Is Fun! 📚

Our Climax-Scotts PTO and Elementary Library partnered to provide every elementary student with a free book through our Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) program. Students had the opportunity to browse grade-level selections and choose a book to take home and keep, helping build personal libraries and encourage a lifelong love of reading. Thank you to everyone who helps make this program possible!

And thank you to Mrs. Swager and Mrs. Moreland for capturing and sharing these photos! 🐾
