This week, our team took a creative approach to reflect using the Washline Method--- a fun and interactive way to measure our progress and impacts. Each "item on the line" represented our achievements, challe, and lessons learned from the week's road safety activities.

Through open discussion and teamwork, we identified what worked well, what needs improvement, and how we can strengthen our impact in schools and communities.💬💡

At Moloto Active Youth Organization, we believe in learning by doing --- because consistent monitoring and honest evaluation help us grow, improve, and serve our communities better.🌍❤

🚨Call to Action | Road Safety Alert🚨

Today, members of the Moloto Active Youth Organisation (MAYO) participating in the National Youth Service (NYS) programme witnessed a deeply troubling incident at Peter Mokaba Primary School — a Grade RR learner fell headfirst from a transport vehicle.

The vehicle, meant to carry only four passengers, was found transporting over twenty children, with some shockingly placed in the boot. 🚗💔

We urgently call on parents, guardians, and transport operators to take responsibility and put our children’s safety first. No child’s life should ever be at risk because of negligence or greed.

Let’s act now — report unsafe scholar transport, hold drivers accountable, and protect our learners. Every child deserves to arrive home safely. 🙏

As part of the MAYO school Road Safety Programme, our team was stationed at Maleles Corner, a busy crossing point where many learners pass after school.

We assisted children in crossing safely, reminded motorists to show down, and encouraged pedestrians to use safe crossing practices.
The smiles and gratitude from the learners remind us why this work matters.

Every step we take towards Road safety is a step towards saving lives. Mayo remains dedicated to protecting our children and promoting active citizenship in Moloto. 🚦👣

Today, the MAYO Team was on the ground at Peter Mokaba Primary School, carrying out our School Road Safety Programme.

Our first focus area was the school gate, where transport vehicles have, on more than one occasion, posed a danger to learners. The team actively assisted young learners in crossing safely and managed traffic flow to prevent incidents during school dismissal.

This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that every child gets home safely and that road users remain aware and responsible around school zones. Safety begins with all of us. 🚸💚
