Jen Condel and Lisa Boyd recently presented at the 2026 Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health - AIM Annual Meeting. Their breakout session, “Strategies for Overcoming the Challenges of Collaborating with Outpatient Providers,” highlighted the Pennsylvania Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s strategies for engaging clinical and non-clinical outpatient providers and overcoming collaboration challenges.

As Pennsylvania's population ages, communities are grappling with how to support longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

Starting June 22, 90.5 WESA's new podcast series, Designing Dignity, explores the realities of aging, cognitive decline, caregiving, and what we can learn from Japan—a country that has spent decades adapting to a super-aging society.

In 2024, JHF led a study tour to Japan to explore innovations in aging and health care. The lessons we learned there helped shape our ongoing work around creating communities where older adults can thrive. We were pleased to meet with the WESA team back in 2025 and again ahead of their trip to Japan, and we are now excited to see the series launch.

We encourage everyone interested in aging, caregiving, and the future of our region to tune in.

Last week, we were proud to celebrate an extraordinary milestone as Karen Wolk Feinstein was honored as a History Maker in Healthcare at the Heinz History Center’s History Makers Award Dinner.

For more than three decades, Karen’s visionary leadership has shaped the Jewish Healthcare Foundation into a nationally recognized force for healthcare innovation, patient safety, workforce development, women’s health, and community partnership. This well-deserved recognition reflects not only her remarkable career, but also the collective efforts of the many staff, Trustees, partners, and supporters who have advanced JHF’s mission alongside her.

The evening was made even more special by Karen’s announcement of her upcoming retirement and Daniel Rosen's appointment as JHF's next President & CEO, beginning a thoughtful leadership transition after more than three decades of service.

We are especially grateful to Stefani Pashman, CEO of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, for her thoughtful and inspiring introduction, and to the Heinz History Center for this meaningful honor.

Today, we are proud to announce the appointment of Daniel Rosen, PhD, MSW, as the next President and CEO of the Jewish Healthcare Foundation.

Danny brings a deep commitment to improving health and healthcare, extensive experience in community leadership, behavioral health, aging, and integrated care, and a longstanding connection to JHF through his years of service as a Trustee, Executive Committee member, and Executive Vice President.

As we welcome Danny into this role, we also celebrate and thank Karen Wolk Feinstein, PhD, whose visionary leadership over the past 35 years transformed JHF into one of the nation's most influential health philanthropies. Through innovation, partnership, advocacy, and action, Karen helped shape a legacy that has improved countless lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and beyond.

The challenges facing health care and vulnerable populations today are significant—but so are the opportunities. Under Danny's leadership, JHF will continue bringing people together, advancing innovative solutions, and improving health and healthcare for the communities we serve.

We’re grateful to The John A. Hartford Foundation for partnering with JHF and Health Careers Futures and funding Phase III of the Teaching Nursing Homes Model.

This $1.2M grant will support engagement with 1,500 nursing homes to expand nursing student placements and academic partnerships, while helping 500 nursing homes achieve Age-Friendly Health Systems recognition.
