The Ugandan Community in Qatar - UGACOQ is a non-political, non-profit, non-religious and, non-ethnic formal association comprised of persons living in the State of Qatar and other concerned global well-wishers, who are of Ugandan origin or have ties to Uganda. VISION STATEMENT:

One of the main objectives of this association is to foster the well-being of all Ugandans living in the State of Qatar

by creating a sustainable and relevant socio-welfare organisation and Network that will stand the test of time as we seek to support Ugandans living in the State of Qatar. Through this community, we are encouraged to unite under one umbrella so as to form a cohesive and viable front to address the numerous issues that concern us. Ugandans living in the State of Qatar and neighboring areas are encouraged to be active members of the association. OBJECTIVES:

UGACOQ was developed with the understanding that there is need to provide professionals with diverse opportunities for networking, professional development, exploiting the untapped potential inherent in the various sectors like inter Qatar-Uganda agribusiness, industry and trade. By this association, we come together as Ugandans to celebrate our national heritage and unity, with highlights such as our National Independence Day which is commemorated annually on 09th October. Over the years, there has been a significant increase in the number of Ugandans living in the State of Qatar, with a projected surge of our population here in Qatar set to take off from 2017 in the buildup for Qatar 2022 World Cup. CONDOLENCE MESSAGE
On behalf of the Ugandan Community in Qatar (UGACOQ), we extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to His Highness the Amir, the Al Thani family, the Government, and the people of the State of Qatar following the passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani's father.
During this time of profound grief, we stand in solidarity with the people of Qatar and pray that Almighty God grants the departed eternal peace, comforts the bereaved family, and gives strength to the nation.
May the cherished memories of his life and legacy continue to inspire generations to come.

On behalf of the Ugandan Community in Qatar (UGACOQ), we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the Ras Laffan plant incident.
We also keep the injured in our thoughts and prayers, wishing them a quick and full recovery.
During this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with the people of Qatar and share in your sorrow. May the affected families find strength, comfort, and support, and may the souls of the departed rest in peace.

DIAMOND LEAGUE DOHA 2026 – THANK YOU UGANDANS! 🇺🇬🇶🇦
The Diamond League held on 19th June 2026 in Doha, Qatar, was a memorable event that brought together Ugandans and athletics lovers from across the country in a spirit of unity and national pride.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Halima Nakaayi for her outstanding performance in the Women's 800m race, where she secured an impressive 3rd position, once again raising the Ugandan flag high on the international stage.
A special thank you goes to all Ugandans who turned up in large numbers, proudly dressed in Ugandan colors and waving our national flag. Your support and energy created a wonderful atmosphere that showcased the strength and unity of our community.
We also appreciate the event organizers, the supporting teams, volunteers, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this experience successful.
Special recognition goes to the Chairperson of the Ugandan Community in Qatar for tirelessly engaging various government offices and stakeholders to secure opportunities and benefits for Ugandans in Qatar, including the sourcing of free tickets that enabled many community members to attend and enjoy this world-class event.
As a community, let us continue to remember that unity is our greatest strength. When we work together, support one another, and stand as one people, we can achieve far more than we can individually.

The atmosphere at the ongoing Diamond League Doha 2026 is electric as Ugandans and other athletics fans continue to enjoy a memorable day of world-class competition.
Many Ugandans have turned up in large numbers, proudly dressed in Uganda-themed attire and waving the Ugandan flag high in the air. The spirit of unity, patriotism, and support for the activities and participants is on full display.
A variety of activities are taking place around the venue, and the excitement continues to build as the event reaches its peak. Those who are still on their way are encouraged to come as soon as possible and be part of this incredible experience.

Dear Members,

We are pleased to share highlights from the Uganda Tourism and Cultural Expo – 2nd Edition, which took place on 8th June 2026 at the JW Marriott Marquis Doha, Qatar.

The event, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in the State of Qatar, brought together members of the Ugandan community, friends of Uganda, business leaders, cultural enthusiasts, and various stakeholders to celebrate and promote Uganda's rich heritage.

This year's theme focused on showcasing the culture, traditions, and way of life of the people of Northern Uganda, giving attendees a deeper appreciation of the region's unique cultural identity, history, and tourism potential.

UGACOQ, together with its leaders, partners, and friends, was proudly represented at this important event. We thank all those who attended and contributed to making the occasion a success.

📸 Uganda Tourism and Cultural Expo – 2nd Edition, Qatar

Dear UGACOQ Members,

We are pleased to share with you some of the photos captured during the Uganda Tourism and Cultural Expo – 2nd Edition, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in the State of Qatar, which took place yesterday at the prestigious JW Marriott Marquis Doha.
UGACOQ, together with its partners, friends, and leaders, was invited and well represented at this important event. We thank all those who attended and proudly represented our community.
This year's theme focused on showcasing the rich culture and heritage of the people of Northern Uganda. This was beautifully represented through cultural displays, traditions, music, and the unique dressing code. As you can see from the photos, many guests embraced traditional attire commonly worn in Northern Uganda, adding beauty, pride, and authenticity to the occasion.
The event provided an excellent platform to promote Uganda's tourism potential, cultural diversity, and national identity while strengthening ties between Ugandans and friends of Uganda in Qatar.
The UGACOQ Communication Team was present throughout the event to document and cover the day's activities. More detailed highlights, photos, videos, and event coverage will be shared soon, especially for those who were unable to attend.
