Keeping kids active and involved in local sport shouldn’t come with added financial pressure. That’s why we’re continuing to deliver practical cost of living support that makes a real difference for Western Australian families.

Like the $300 KidSport Voucher Program that enables eligible children aged 5-18 to participate in community sport and recreation by offering them financial assistance towards club registration fees. 🏈🏐

We want more West Australians to achieve the dream of owning their own home.

That's why we’re investing $250 million to unlock up to 1,200 apartments and townhouses by helping to remove roadblocks for housing developments.

It means more homes will be built sooner, and more opportunities for people to get into the market, particularly young people and downsizers.

We’re also lifting Keystart’s 2% deposit price cap to $860,000, and increasing shared equity limits, making it easier for more Western Australians to get a foot in the door.

It's all part of this year's Budget, where we've made housing a top priority. Unlocking and delivering more land supply, building thousands of homes for Western Australians, and helping first home buyers get into the market. 🔑

The Cook Government is committed to continue supporting tourism across our regions to diversify our economy, create jobs and grow opportunities for local businesses.

It was a strong showing from WA’s regional destinations, with Geraldton taking second place and Kalgoorlie-Boulder third.
 
Jurien Bay was named WA’s Best Small Tourism Town, while Kalbarri claimed the Tiny Tourism Town title for a third consecutive year - earning its place in the Awards’ Hall of Fame! 🌟

And from Monday June 1, new safety cameras 📸 will be operating on the Mitchell Freeway in Perth.

We’re encouraging everyone to change behaviour so there’s a six month grace period for the cameras on the Mitchell Freeway for phone and seat belt offences.

Speeding will continue to result in a fine.

We’re keeping costs low and cheaper public transport is saving WA families hundreds of dollars a year. 🚉

It’s because we’ve made public transport permanently free on Sundays and for kids travelling to and from school.

We’ve also introduced the Go Anywhere Fare, meaning you can travel anywhere on the network for just $2.80 with an autoload SmartRider.

TransWA fares have also been slashed by 50%, helping to reduce travel costs for regional families. 🚎
