Pneumonia is a deadly disease especially to children under 5 years. In Kenya, pneumonia kills about 10,000 children every year. This #WorldPneumoniaDay, let us work together to stop this disease in its track by getting our children vaccinated. The vaccine is given at 6, 10, and 14 weeks and is the safest way to protect your child from the dangers of pneumonia.

“These queries were brought to the committee. Which is a committee of very many experts with different experiences. We looked at every case carefully following all the rules set up scientifically by the World Health Organization (WHO). And we did confirm in none of these children there was direct relationship or link with the polio vaccine.” - Dr. Ezekiel Wafula, Chair, National Vaccine Safety Advisory Committee

On #WorldPolioDay, we recognise the power of vaccines in the fight against polio. Millions of children are still in danger of getting polio, but with vaccination efforts countrywide, we can #KickPolioOutOfKenya forever.
Polio spreads silently, affecting children the most but with widespread vaccination, we can stop the virus and prevent future outbreaks. In our current vaccination campaign, 3.7 million children have been vaccinated against the deadly disease in 9 counties including Busia, Bungoma, Kajiado, Kiambu, Machakos, Nairobi, Trans-Nzoia, Turkana, and West Pokot.
Even if your child is fully vaccinated, it's important that they receive additional doses to give them complete protection. Two doses can change your child’s future forever. Let us spread the word and protect every child from Polio.
