In line with its commitment to cultivate a culture of entrepreneurship and empower future business owners, the DTI R2 Isabela, through its Negosyo Center Cabagan and Santa Maria, conducted a three-day Entrepreneurial Development Training cm Financial Literacy for 20 trainees enrolled in the Agricultural Crops NC II program under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) Program on July 6โ€“8, 2026, at Simanu Norte, San Pablo, Isabela.

The activity aimed to equip the trainees with entrepreneurial knowledge and practical business skills to complement their technical competencies, enabling them to explore entrepreneurship as a viable livelihood option.

The training was facilitated by Negosyo Center Business Counselors (NCBCs) Ms. Anne Jhay O. Brisuela-Ulep of Negosyo Center Cabagan and Ms. Kathleen Sol C. Caliguiran of Negosyo Center Santa Maria. Throughout the activity, participants actively engaged in interactive discussions, workshops, and practical learning sessions designed to enhance their entrepreneurial capabilities.

Training sessions covered the DTI Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs); the DTI 7Ms of Entrepreneurship; How to Start and Sustain a Business; Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies (PECs) Self-Assessment; Entrepreneurial Mindsetting; Financial Literacy; Business Plan Writing; and the Basics of Marketing.

A highlight of the activity was the Business Plan Writing Workshop, where participants were grouped into teams of five to develop business plans based on their proposed enterprises. Each group presented its output before the Negosyo Center Business Counselors, who provided constructive feedback and recommendations to strengthen the feasibility and sustainability of their business concepts.

The activity concluded with participants expressing appreciation for the practical knowledge and insights they gained. Their active participation, enthusiasm, and collaborative spirit contributed to a dynamic and engaging learning environment throughout the three-day training.

The initiative underscores the continuing partnership between DTI and TESDA in promoting entrepreneurship alongside technical skills development. By integrating entrepreneurial education into their technical skills training, DTI empowers aspiring entrepreneurs to transform their skills into businesses and livelihood opportunities, contributing to inclusive economic growth in the province.

CABAGAN, Isabela โ€“ The DTI R2 Isabela Provincial Office, through Negosyo Center Cabagan, successfully conducted a three-day Entrepreneurial Development Training (EDT) and Financial Literacy Training for 15 scholars enrolled in the Events Management Services NC III program under the Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program โ€“ Enterprise-Based Education and Training (TTSP-EBET) on June 29โ€“30 and July 1, 2026, at Round Rock Resort, Cansan, Cabagan, Isabela.

The training aimed to develop the entrepreneurial competencies and financial management skills of the scholars, equipping them with the knowledge, practical tools, and mindset necessary to pursue sustainable livelihood opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures in the events management industry.

Serving as resource speakers were Negosyo Center Business Counselors Ms. Anne Jhay O. Brisuela-Ulep of Negosyo Center Cabagan and Ms. Kathleen Sol C. Caliguiran of Negosyo Center Santa Maria, who facilitated the interactive learning sessions throughout the three-day activity.

The training commenced with an opening session, during which the participants and resource speakers introduced themselves, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Ms. Caliguiran provided an overview of the Department of Trade and Industry's programs and services, including the agency's 7Ms Framework, which highlights the comprehensive support available to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Ms. Brisuela-Ulep then discussed How to Start and Sustain a Business, where she emphasized the essential steps in establishing and maintaining a successful enterprise. She also facilitated a Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies (PEC) Self-Assessment Workshop, enabling participants to identify their entrepreneurial strengths and areas for improvement. The day's sessions concluded with an introduction to the fundamentals of business plan writing.

On the second day, participants applied their learnings through a Business Plan Writing Workshop, where each scholar developed and presented an individual business plan before the class. The presentations demonstrated their understanding of the entrepreneurial concepts discussed during the previous sessions while allowing them to receive constructive feedback from the resource speakers. In the afternoon, Ms. Caliguiran conducted a Financial Literacy Training, covering responsible financial management, budgeting, saving, and informed financial decision-making. This was followed by a session on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) facilitated by Ms. Brisuela-Ulep, highlighting the importance of delivering quality customer service and building long-term customer relationships to ensure business sustainability.

The third and final day focused on marketing and consumer awareness. Ms. Caliguiran discussed the Basics of Marketing, incorporating an interactive brand logo identification activity that reinforced key branding concepts. Subsequently, Ms. Brisuela-Ulep facilitated a session on Consumer Rights and Responsibilities, emphasizing ethical business practices and consumer protection.

The activity concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participating scholars and resource speakers in recognition of their active participation and valuable contributions to the successful implementation of the training.

Through initiatives such as the Entrepreneurial Development Training, DTI Region 2 โ€“ Isabela continues to empower Filipino workers and aspiring entrepreneurs by strengthening their entrepreneurial mindset, enhancing financial literacy, and developing business management competencies. These efforts reflect the Department's continuing commitment to building resilient entrepreneurs and fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the region.

CABAGAN, ISABELA โ€” Demonstrating its continued commitment to developing future entrepreneurs and strengthening the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 โ€“ Isabela Provincial Office, through Negosyo Center Cabagan, successfully conducted a three-day Entrepreneurial Development Training (EDT) and Financial Literacy Course for 14 Events Management Services NC III students under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority from June 1โ€“3, 2026, at Round Rock Resort in Cabagan.

The training aimed to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, strengthen financial management skills, and equip participants with practical business knowledge essential for establishing and sustaining enterprises in the events management industry.

The program was facilitated by Negosyo Center Junior Business Counselors Anne Jhay O. Brisuela-Ulep and Kathleen Sol Caliguiran.

On the first day, Ms. Brisuela-Ulep introduced participants to DTI programs and services, highlighting various support mechanisms available to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). She also discussed the 7Ms of a Successful Entrepreneur, emphasizing the key factors that contribute to business success and sustainability.

The second day focused on Entrepreneurial Development Training and Financial Literacy. Ms. Caliguiran underscored the importance of financial planning, budgeting, saving, and responsible resource management. Participants gained valuable insights into how financial discipline supports long-term business growth and sustainability.

On the final day, Ms. Brisuela-Ulep facilitated a session on marketing fundamentals and customer relations, including customer rights and responsibilities. The discussion highlighted the value of ethical business practices, effective market positioning, and customer-centered service in building competitive and resilient enterprises.

Through initiatives such as this, DTI Region 2 โ€“ Isabela continues to empower aspiring entrepreneurs by providing relevant knowledge, practical skills, and access to business development support services.
