The past two years have shown us how vital and significant telehealth services are. I am honored to promote Telehealth Awareness Week and will continue to champion policies that will expand telehealth access and initiatives for all Americans.
Congratulations to Council Rock High School South and New Hope Solebury Middle School for being selected this year as National Blue Ribbon Schools! 297 schools across the country were recognized this year for academic excellence and are seen as a model for schools nationwide, and I am proud to recognize these two schools for their significant achievement!
These grants are essential for the many Bucks County residents that rely on these services to keep them safe. I am proud to support our local fire departments and AFG grant programs.
U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick announced Monday that the squad will receive a $271,304.54 Assistance to Firefighters grant.
Millions of Americans struggle every day with mental health and substance use disorders. National Recovery Month focuses on educating and raising awareness, allowing us to demonstrate that recovery can be an expectation, not an exception.
Happy 75th Birthday to the United States Air Force. Thank you for all you do to protect America’s citizens and freedom.
Thank you, Tim Cook, for sitting down with our bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus yesterday to collaborate on the intersection of technology, national security and economic growth.
Meet this week's Hometown Heroes, the students, families, and staff of Centennial School District’s Klinger Middle School in Southampton. In an effort to support those in need, the Klinger school community partnered with the Warminster Food Bank for a “Back to School Stuff The Bus” food drive. Mike Cerino, Director of the Warminster Food Bank, which serves over eight hundred individuals and two-hundred families each month, explained how during the summer months, the food bank typically experiences a decrease in donations, so this back-to-school effort was especially meaningful and impactful. In fact, in a remarkable feat, a record-breaking 2,465 pounds of groceries, as well as over $800 in cash and gift cards, were collected to be provided to community members in need. So please join me in applauding Klinger Middle School students, families, staff, and all those who helped develop and support this wonderful citizenship in action effort.
Thank you, Pavel, and the team at Electronic Fluorocarbons for stopping by our office in Washington, D.C., today to meet with me!
I enjoyed celebrating the 125th Anniversary of Holy Ghost Prep this weekend! Congratulations to the school, its faculty, and its students, on 125 years of Spiritan Education, with many more to come!
I was humbled to attend Lower Makefield’s 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony yesterday at the Garden of Reflection to honor those we lost on that day, 21 years ago. We will never forget.
Today, we remember the day that changed America forever. Today, we remember and cherish the memories of those we lost on that terrible day. Today, we honor our first responders on land and in the air who so bravely gave their lives in service of others and our country. We will never forget those we lost, and those we continue to lose, because of the tragedy of that day. We will continue to honor them every day for their courage, their bravery, and their allegiance to our great nation.
Meet this week’s Hometown Hero, the remarkable Rodney Wyatt. Rodney, a Vietnam War Veteran who enlisted in the Marines in 1972, has made it his life’s mission to serve our country and community. Following his retirement from the military, Rodney sought to continue helping others, especially fellow veterans, and founded Salute 2 Service. Rodney works tirelessly to provide resources and support to local veterans and military families in Bucks County, as they transition into civilian life. Salute 2 Service focuses on both personal and professional development for our veterans. In addition, Rodney is working to combat hunger within our community. Each week for the past eight years, Rodney has hosted a food pantry in Bristol Township—feeding countless members of our communities. Also recognizing that heading back to school can present hardships for some community members, Rodney organized a backpack giveaway last week that assisted more than 400 families. Please join me in thanking Rodney, a true hometown hero, from serving our country, to his selfless efforts to better the lives of those in need in our community.
My prayers are with the Royal Family, the new King Charles and all citizens in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth who mourn for the Queen and her family. The United States of America mourns with you. Read my full statement here:

On this Labor Day, we recognize the hardworking men and women of all trades who devoted themselves to creating the America that we know and love, and still continue to do so every day. Happy Labor Day, all!
Meet this week's Hometown Hero, Officer Julius Ferraro. Following a long, decorated, and extensive career of selfless service, Officer Ferraro retired from the Newtown Township Police Department this past Wednesday. Most of our community members in and around the Newtown area fondly refer to him as Officer Jules and know what a dedicated and active community member he has been. Known for his community outreach, Officer Jules has an uncanny ability to personally connect with students and made frequent visits for book readings, police demonstrations, and friendly check-ins. Officer Jules began his service career in 1969, serving our country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his time with the Marines, he chose to serve his community as a police officer. In his forty years of law enforcement, he has received several commendations and awards for his bravery, heroism, and merit, even receiving the high honor of Police Officer of the Year. Throughout his career Officer Jules was: a K-9 handler and trainer; advisor and trainer for DynCorp International in Iraq; trained and led members of the Honor Guard, a member and instructor of Bucks County’s Crisis Intervention Team Task Force; involved in hostage negotiation as a former Bucks County South Central Emergency Response Team Negotiator; and an instructor in the Teaching Educating And Mentoring School Liaison Program. A champion for mental health, Officer Jules trained and specialized in helping community members with Autism. Officer Jules has been recognized throughout our community for his commitment, dedication, and years of selfless service—a testament to the impact he has had on so many. So join me in thanking and applauding Officer Jules for his lifetime of service and wishing him the best in this next chapter.
In 2020, over 93,000 Americans died from a drug overdose in the United States. Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember their lives and their families. As a co-chair of the Bipartisan Addiction and Mental Health Task Force, I will continue to work across the aisle to expand access to treatment, raise awareness, and find solutions to prevent and treat substance use disorder.
Pat Gillespie was a champion for working families who advocated to make the lives of those around him better. His tireless work for the Building Trades helped to shape the lives of Pennsylvania’s workers for the better and our prayers are with his family during this time.
The labor movement has lost another titan…and I have lost a dear friend. A Leaders, Leader. My friend, and Mentor Pat Gillespie led the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades for 34 years. His leadership set the stage for many of the advances the Building Trades have made across the Philadelphia region and helped make us a true force to be reckoned with.
In addition to his role as Business Manager of the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council, Pat served as Vice President of the Philadelphia Council of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL– CIO), and Vice President of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union #542.
He gave freely of his time and talents to many local charitable organizations and served on many Boards across the region.
Pat Gillespie was a man who understood the power of labor and the ways in which it could change people's lives. He led the Building Trades with honor and dignity and was wholeheartedly and fiercely supportive of his Members and their families. He led the Building Trades during a time of expansive growth and development within Philadelphia, and he never lost sight of the importance of service. Those of us who serve in labor leadership roles today, stand on the shoulders of men like Pat Gillespie...they don't make them like that anymore.
My prayers and condolences, and those of our brothers and sisters in the Building Trades, go out to Pat's family and loved ones. May they take great comfort in the fact that the world and our city are a better place for his having been here.
-Ryan N. Boyer, Business Manager

Meet this week's Hometown Heroes, Tom and Carole Logan of Doylestown Borough. For more than 50 years, Tom, a veteran who served on the USS Saratoga, and Carole have selflessly given back to our community in innumerable ways. From supporting decades of Central Bucks student-athletes and teams through the Doylestown Athletic Association, their dedication to the local police and fire departments, and for 30 years, delivering the Borough’s Christmas tree for the annual tree lighting, and everything in between, the Logan's have touched the lives of so many and created an inspirational legacy of caring and compassion. This past Monday, the Borough of Doylestown recognized their service and dedication with a proclamation marking the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Doyle Street, where Tom has served the community at his auto shop since 1968, as “Logan’s Corner". Please join me in congratulating Tom and Carole on this well-deserved recognition and thanking them for their service to our community.
Happy Women’s Equality Day! Today, we commemorate the signing of the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees women the right to vote, and honor the suffragists who so bravely committed their lives to improving the lives of all women.
Last week I toured the PFAS Multi-site Health Study facility in Warminster to see firsthand the ongoing PFAS study taking place near the Naval Air Warfare Center in Warminster and Willow Grove Naval Air Base in Horsham. The purpose of this ongoing study is to analyze the human health effects for adults and children in communities exposed to PFAS through drinking water. While the participation rate among adults is very high, we must do more to encourage youth participation. To everyone in the 11 towns eligible for this study, please consider getting tested. These tests are confidential and will not only benefit you as an individual, but it will also benefit future generations. To learn more about the study, please click on the link here -> https://papfas.rti.org/
