This is a good overview of my C-PACE legislation (HB1325) that passed the 2022 Session w/ bipartisan support (72-28; 40-0). It now provides additional options for localities to work with commercial real estate developers to install energy-efficient measures in their buildings, including stormwater management, updated HVAC and insulation, solar panels, and electric vehicle charging stations.

This week the bipartisan delegation representing the 20th judicial circuit will be conducting interviews for appointments to the Circuit Court and the General District Court. Under the Virginia Constitution, the General Assembly has the responsibility for interviewing and electing state judges that will be fair in their interpretation and application of the law.
Attorney William R. Fitzpatrick and Judge Matthew Parke Snow have been recommended by the Loudoun County Bar Association for 20th Circuit general district and circuit court appointments, respectively.
This past Saturday, I participated in the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Women’s Leadership Conference in Harrisonburg. Did you know that approximately 36% of the farms in Virginia are owned by women? We had a great discussion on rural broadband, improvements to I-81, workforce development, and how to maintain the family farm.

Earlier this week I met with the Virginia529 team to discuss saving for college, college affordability, and their outreach efforts to mentor students as they prepare for college. It’s so important that we continue to address the underlying issues of student debt and ensure everyone has a path to being successful.

Busy day of Zoom calls to discuss teen mental health with Elijah Lee, conservation, renewable energy, and climate change with Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions and to present a Commending Resolution to SEIU Virginia 512 for their outstanding support to older adults and people with disabilities, not just during the pandemic, but everyday.
Thanks to the Wytheville Democrats for hosting me last week for “politics on the porch.” We had a great discussion about affordable housing, Pre-K funding, childcare availability and affordability, and many other issues. Today I was interviewed by NBC4 and Susan Hogan about EV rebates, EV infrastructure, and EV manufacturing opportunities across the Commonwealth. We had a great discussion about the ongoing work to fund my previously passed EV rebate program, which has been identified as the most equitable EV program in the nation. With over $1.9bn in year-end surpluses, it is my hope that the Governor will fund the the rebate program and help provide long-term inflation relief to Virginians.

These children are learning the importance of giving back to their community.

From 1947 to 1968 my dad worked as a loom tender at the Burlington Textile factory in Glasgow, VA. This week I toured the same facility, which is now part of Mohawk Industries Drivers, and spoke at the Virginia Manufacturers Association Centennial Regional meeting. My dad once worked in manufacturing and now I work to grow manufacturing across the Commonwealth.
