The County Government in partnership with Kenya Devolution Support Program (KDSP) has unveiled plans to construct a state-of-the-art five-storey medical complex at Moi County Referral Hospital (Voi), a transformative project valued at KSh 352 million and scheduled for completion within 18 months.
The proposed development will significantly enhance critical care services by introducing an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), High Dependency Unit (HDU), a modern Accident and Emergency Department complete with casualty services and minor theatres, expanded male and female surgical wards with a combined 44-bed capacity, and an on-site medical oxygen plant.
Present during the public participation forum held in Voi Sub County, was H.E Governor Andrew Mwadime, Deputy Governor Hon. Christine Kilalo, CECM Devolution & Public Service Gloria Monikombo, CCO Devolution & Public Service Nashon Nyali, County Government Staff and residents from Voi Sub County.
H.E. Governor Andrew Mwadime - Wakujaa reiterate that his efforts to engage different stakeholders, state and non-state actors have now started bearing fruits emphasizing the project is a direct response to the needs and aspirations of the people of Taita Taveta.
